Hey hey, I'm Kastom.

I don't like talking about myself, so, uh...yeah. lol. I'm a major gamer, I read a lot of books (physics, math, philosophy, fantasy), watch and read some anime, and spend the rest of my time being annoyed at gravity for restricting me to being able to do only one front flip at a time.

I've posted a few of the articles/essays I've written, so if you're ever interested in reading anything that I have thought about or researched, check out my articles world, Kastom's Thoughts.

And the essentials:

Kastom's Bio:

Birth date: September 10, 1989
Sex: Male
Real Name: Tomas (Tom)
Living: Ontario, Canada
Occupation: University of Waterloo Undergraduate Physics Major

And I leave you with a quote from Adam which sums me up well:
"Kastom is very smart and wise, but sometimes he acts like a n00blet..."

Ow -_o lol

Hey hey,

It's rather ironic. I make a post about how much I love being active, and then the very next day, I go and hurt myself.

Rather badly at that, lol.

Soooo, yeah. Skiing yesterday...well now I have trouble...uh....walking.

lol

Basically, I went off a small jump on the side of a run, lost my balance while going off of it, and somehow managed to smash myself into a rock.

A rather small rock. But even a small rock can hurt. A lot. Especially when you fly into it. With your knee.

Well, more specifically, the underside of your knee.

Like, you know the part just below your kneecap? With the tendons and muscles? Yeah, I slammed that into a rock. Going rather fast.

Oh, and I also smashed up the entire side of the upper leg.

(all of this is on my left leg)

So anyways, I hit that, roll to the ground, and just lie there. This was easily among the most painful feelings in my life. It felt like I had literally smashed my kneecap into pieces. And I was really afraid that I had done just that, or maybe torn my ACL, or something.

So I lay there for about a minute, while my brother and Dad held me in place (since I was on a slope). Then I felt like I wasn't so badly dieing enough to check and see if I HAD broken anything. Lifted my leg a bit, and found that, despite major pain, I COULD move my left leg and knee.

That was a good sign, lol.

So I eventually managed to get up and slowly ski down to the bottom (screw calling for the ski first aid people, I'm a tough guy XP). Went into one of the chalet places to check myself out. Pulled up my snowpants to see my pants were bloody. Pulled up my pant leg, to see a moderately nasty scrape across my knee, as well as my entire knee being about double its usual size (and most of which was completely numb).

So suffice to say, I knew I wasn't skiing for the rest of the day, lol. And since it was only 11-ish, I changed out of my ski stuff, grabbed my DS, and hung out at one of the bars until my brother and Dad were done for the day.

Anyways, it seems to be doing a lot better today. I still can't walk properly worth a crap (I keep my left leg completely rigid and hobble along), but I CAN bend my knee slightly without too much pain. And the swelling has gone down slightly (after lots of ice).

So I'm thinking there won't be any permanent damage (and also really hoping so, lol), but I'll have to wait and see. If my inability to walk, or the swelling persist, I'll head over to a doctor or something and see if I need x-rays or whatevs. Until then, some good ol' sitting is in order XP

Anyways, thought I'd just let you guys know XD

Actually has trouble sitting as well, lol,

Winter! Huzzah!

Hey hey,

So went skating last night. Man...I use to hate skating, but I just find it so enjoyable now.

As I was skating, I just kinda realized something. No matter how much of a tech, video game, and just overall geeky person I am, I just love being outside, and playing sports, and just plain well being active.

Man I love life.

XD

Speaking of sports, here's another pic from my Smuggler's Notch trip. It's one of my fav:

My Dad and I as we are going through some hard, but super fun glades (skiing in the trees, :P).

Anyways, heading out for a day trip of skiing with my Dad and younger older brother at Mont Tremblant tomorry. Means I gotta get up at 5 AM -_O

But it's skiing, so it's completely worth the getting up early and 3 hour drive each way.

Worried about it getting warm and some snow melting next week,

EDIT: Also, I felt like I was being such a douche doing this, but I seriously couldn't help myself:

BlackRider joined the room.

werewolf queen: hello rider ^^

BlackRider: hmm?

werewolf queen: how are you?

BlackRider: ...dead..

werewolf queen: awwwwww noooooooo :(

firezero joined the room.

Kastom You should probably get that checked by a doctor then Rider.

BlackRider: i don't have a heart now

Kastom That is definitely a serious health concern.

BlackRider: Kastom: because somebody owns it now..

Kastom I don't know how you are living, but I highly suggest seeking medical attention.

Kastom Ah, selling organs on eBay?

BlackRider: no..

Kastom Good, you shouldn't.

Kastom I know from experience.

Kastom I miss my spleen :(

BlackRider: Kastom: what??

Update

Hey hey,

So I bought Mirror's Edge on Tuesday. Played through it yesterday.

Damn, that game is soooooo good. It is definitely among my favourite games ever now.

Sure, there are a good number of problems with it, and some of the later levels aren't as fun; but man, quite plain and simply, it has the greatest immersion level I have ever experienced in a game.

When you get into the feeling of running, it just so much feels like you are actually there. The air as it rushes by you, the way your eyes adjust and focus, the way your head moves...ugh, best realistic 1st person view I've ever seen in a game.

The story...wasn't too bad. Not at all. It just wasn't polished. If there had been a few intros levels where you got to know the characters, the setting, and so on, then that would've greatly helped.

Still, it did what it needed to do to drive the game forward, so I was quite happy with it.

Also I love the main character Faith.

*shot*

Hahahahahhaa....

But yeah...wow. I want to just keep playing that so badly...and I WANT SEQUEL. I am SO happy that one is in development right now.

Anyways, enough of my fangasm-ing.

Actually one last thing: I do realize there are flaws, but man...what it has makes me overlook them due to their amazing awesome.

lol

(actually done now)

Also going steady through The World Ends With You. Man that's a good game...

Anyways, I'm going skating tonight. The canal has opened up, so my Dad and I are going to start skating every week like last year. It's good exercise.

Also, that means I can get a Beaver Tail! <33

And then we're going for Pho for dinner.

May not like much food, but loves the food he likes,

What I Learned From My Last Post

You guys need to take it easy a bit.

IT WAS A JOKE. IT WASN'T A CRY FOR HELP FOR SOMETHING.

O_o

*wanders away mumbling*

Oh, also I changed my world a bit. I've been hating it for the past year or so due to the fact that it was basically all stuff from high school (i.e. past-Kastom/idiot-Kastom).

:P

Also, last week I became a premium member. Since it's cheaper, I figured, "Hell, why not? I like this site enough to support it at least a bit."

:P

Also, rented Mirror's Edge this weekend. It's effing freaking awesome. I am buying it next chance I get. Also, I may be slightly in love with the main character.

*shot*

Also, yesterday was in a Blockbuster with a friend (renting the new Family guy star wars), and I found two amazing deals. Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, and Advance Wars: Days of Ruin each for $10. They were originally $30 each. I don't know why they were on sale, but I nabbed that stuff right away, lol.

Anyways, I'm in a pensive mood. I think I'm going to go read some more physics, play some more TWEWY, or maybe do some writing :/

Look! A comic!
