Hello there, this is Katana, also known as Kat in some circles. I'm your friendly neighborhood twenty-two-year-old illustrator/writer whose sarcasm is second to none and harboring the ability to verbalize the parentheses in stories. I drink coffee and draw like an addict and am liable to get you into things that I like. Currently the wielder of a BFA in Illustration and a minor in English.

Questions? Comments? Death threats? Feel free to PM or message me in some iteration. I'm always around, you just don't know it.

"Some of the great artists of our time started off by doodling in class. ...Maybe. Oh heck I dunno."

At least 2012 can be divided neatly

'cause I had a weird thing about symmetry with 2011, you see.

And now for a tradition, however useless it may be:

Total posts: 130
Average/month: 11
Average/week: 2.5 (exactly the middle ahhh how do I math)

Down again from 155 last year. Still gotta hold to the fact that I'm still posting here way more than I did on myOtaku.

Last night was a change-up from my usual New Years Eve. I was over at Waffuru's for the bulk of the night, and we Persona 4'd it up. God, that game...Shadow Teddie wasn't hard, just annoying, since Chie was unable to use ice spells WE SHOULD'VE USED KANJI not that it would've made a difference anyway. And then it was PLOT PLOT PLOT PLOT and social linking and trying to raise our Expression so Nanako could talk to us about death or whatever she wanted to talk about. We didn't get there.

Upon returning home, I wound up on Des's FFVII stream with the usual suspects ('gome, Shin, Missy, Ducky, Beth, and Ace; Blank was gone when I got there) until 5am. Again. And I woke up around 1pm today and had no regrets.

While we didn't give birth to another Tacochan, we did have a ton of fun given that the cast of the game was named Whore, Pimp, Jiggles, and Mr. T. Gooood times, folks.

Once again, New Years Eve

So did anyone else notice the World rankings went away after not working for two years?

Anyhow, end of the year again. This is really weird; I've been stuck in a strange bubble of not knowing that today was actually New Years Eve until yesterday. I'm not an idiot, I knew what the date always was, but suddenly, I was like "Holy crap it's New Years Eve tomorrow!"

The only thing I can really say about this year is that I didn't post as much as years previous, but the stat post is for tomorrow. And um...I dunno what else to say.

Oh! I know! This is also a completely different point, but I'm actually, finally, putting randomthunk.net to good use. I'm putting together a simple portfolio site and need help trying to figure out how to implement a gallery. I thought Flickr might help, but I don't want it to be a slideshow. I'd like it to be something where you see a grid of the images, and when you click on them, they either open in a pop-up or enlarge on the page or something. Anyone think they can help?

But, back to the post. Overall, good year. Had a couple of really God-awful moments, but in the big picture, my problems are melo-drama. In the long run, 2011 proved I can do a lot and still live on.

And now for the bullets:

- Passed Illustration portfolio review.
- Finished my second year of college.
- Found out living with my friends is not so bad.
- Got really close to a lot of folks who really will stick by you.
- Experienced being laid-off one job and quitting another.
- Hit three years with Movie Sign and wondering where my life went.
- Spread the Doctor Who love and...sigh...got into My Little Pony.
- Spent more time on Skype than I thought possible.
- Became known for coffee, drawing, swearing, and whores.

...Huh. Well then 2011, it was a nice time. I'll tell 2012 you said hello.

The most weirdly productive day ever

I stayed up late with some people in an attempt to get the comment count up. Then I woke up and kind of putzed around.

After taking photos of fog and making more coffee ('cause my dad decided to help himself to my morning brew), I actually set to work. RandomThunk Productions, my excuse for a portfolio, is finally going to be seeing the light of day. Right now the main page is working with one sentence on it. I plan on at least getting the pages up tonight.

And on the other hand, I've been doing my part to contribute to the comment count. This is some serious nostalgia going on, between news posts hitting the triple digits and the revival of the Otaku Cage Match.

Aw yeah, Christmas

I am a greedy person and will post my haul here. I will not lie…good Christmas this year. I tend to complain about how I don’t do as well as some of my friends, but I always have a good time and am thankful for what I get. ...

Christmas Eve Eve and stuff

Two things have been going on the past week (week and a half), and those have been me and my annoying cold, and me and Waffuru playing Persona 4. The latter you already knew about given that I made a short and very uninteresting post about it, and the latter you'd be aware of if you follow me on the Twitters and have been putting up with my constant complaining about it.

It's a cold that started off last Wednesday night during some Personaing. I was really hoping it was just allergies, but Thursday had me leaking snot more than a faucet and cough like a boss. I managed to improve for Friday's trip to the Chriskindklmarkt in Chicago with a couple friends, but once I got back it was another downward spiral.

My voice was lousy on Saturday, to the point where having conversations with Waffuru was somewhat embarrassing on my part. If you watched the SOPA v-log, that gives an idea of what my voice was like when it was being good to me. It was just terrible over the weekend, to the point that I made a couple voice clips on Sunday night.

I've been slowly getting better, now at the point where my voice isn't so heinous and I actually sound like myself again. I pray it gets cleared up by Christmas so I'm not getting rid of gunk in my throat constantly.

As for P4 progress, we've made it to Shadow Rise's dungeon and are probably leveled up enough now to take her on and that whole scenario. Kanji is now our favorite, too, because he is awesome.
