27 Things

Also jumping on the proverbial bandwagon! Away!

1. My hidden talent that only my parents know about is my ability to sculpt animals. Out of baby carrots. With nothing but my teeth. I'll post a Youtube video sometime. I can make a pretty mean carrot-parrot.

2. I can't see too well, so looks don't matter to me all that much. Unless a dude has a shock of red/orangey hair. Drool.

3. On that note, if Asad from Tierkreis were a real person, I'd marry him on the spot.

4. My favorite genre of video games is escape-the-room.

5. I actually am just as big of a comic geek as I am a manga geek. My favorites are Doctor Who, Spiderman, Hellboy, and Looking for Group, in no particular order.

6. I collect chess sets. One is over 100 years old and made of solid granite. Another is carved from animal bones (not ivory). I also own the CLAMP chess set.

7. I hated dolls and clowns as a child, and much preferred stuffed animals. I still have Tobias, my raccoon, that I was given as a baby.

8. I've been hit by a car twice, and walked away both times unharmed.

9. I once was a volunteer tarantula holder for the San Diego Zoo.

10. I've been an extra in a few different movies, including the upcoming Arrested Development film.

11. I'm obsessed with the Sam & Max franchise. I even considered cosplaying Max. Then I realized I'd die of heat exhaustion if I wore it.

12. My very first cosplay I made in middle school. It was Sakura Kinomoto. I had to hide it from my parents. One of my classmates snapped the staff in half.

13. I have a photographic memory.

14. I was never taught how to use a fork and knife and still can't cut properly.

15. I started learning Hebrew at 2. I can't remember any of it aside from the alphabet.

16. I didn't watch anime (or much of any television) when I was younger. I had the audio on my ipod like people would listen to audiobooks.

17. My father helped invent PopRocks.

18. I'm deathly afraid of jaywalking.

19. I don't own a bed. There is no space in my room for one.

20. I used to play Yu-Gi-Oh competitively.

21. I'm also afraid of people yelling.

22. The sight of fake blood (not real or animated) makes me gag at best, or throw up at worst. I can't control the reflex.

23. I LARP.

24. I won a statewide Christmas ornament making competition in middle school to put the ornament on the tree in the Governors' house. And I'm Jewish.

25. I wrote a sixty page book in high school on the treatment of women in classical Chinese and Japanese literature. There is a copy in the town library.

26. I've lived in a Buddhist temple in Nara.

27. I can't eat beef.

"Without Aizen" - Song Parody Contest

“WITHOUT AIZEN” To the tune of "La Vie Bohemme" (from the musical Rent). I wrote this for the Otakon 2008 Masquerade, but plans fell through, so I'm entering it into the song challenge. Use it or sing it all you like, I l...

STEAM Account, Starcraft, and Indie Love

If you use STEAM, you can now friend me! It's division-ten, by the way. If you are on Kongregate, it's divisionten. Actually, if you go anywhere and see divisionten or division-ten, it is very likely me.

On a different note, just bought the Sam & Max set for 50$. I know I cant play Season 1 with my Mac- but it was still cheaper than buying Seasons 2 and 3 separately. And if 1 ever comes out for Mac (which it probably will), I already paid for it.

Another note: Go buy Aquaria. It's been billed as Metroid underwater, but it's much a different beast entirely. Reminds me more of the 2D Zelda games with gorgeous music and a ton of polish. Indie developers always need some love.

And I preordered Starcraft 2. I was a very avid player of 1 and Brood War back in the day (read: 10 years ago), but when I upgraed to OSX it wouldn't run anymore and I deleted the files. I still have the install discs, does anyone here know how to make it work on my computer?
