It's been a while since I posted anything in this WORLD, but not to worry Leiji Matsumoto anime fans, it's still alive. Anyway, for those of you living in either Los Angeles, Honolulu, San Francisco, or in the Canadian nation, you may want to mark your calendars as the 2010 live-action film Space Battleship Yamato (an alternate telling of the 1974 anime T.V. series of the same name) will be playing in the following theatres:
- Downtown Independent in Los Angeles on October 19 and 27
- Ward Stadium 16 in Honolulu from October 25 to 31
- 4 Star Theatre in San Francisco on October 26
- 20 of the Cineplex theaters in Canada on November 11 (note that town location info has not yet been revealed, so those of you living in Canada may want to visit the Cineplex website during the coming weeks to see which theatre will be playing the film.
As for those of you reading this who aren't fans of Matsumoto's work but are eager for a first taste of the legendary franchise that redefined anime for the 1970s generation and onwards, you should check it out. I have a feeling you'll be amazed the action and SFX.
