An insight into yourself by way of a non-existent character--that, my friend, is some writing that could go on for many paragraphs! I've been seeing some of these favorites here and there, and it's made me reconsider my own favorite character. Nevertheless, it's very interesting to see someone through another.
When we see bits of ourselves, it's a bit scary and kind of...strange. But it's kind of interesting that the creators of these characters can make them into people. We obviously exist in reality, and the fact that a person imagined up by somebody else can be so tangible.

But yes, I believe the best and most relatable characters are the ones that are actually human, so inevitably that will include some "jerks".
