Orphan Works Bill Allows Legalized Art Theft!

As the title says the U.S. and U.K. are trying a pass a bill that allows legalized art theft. Not concerned? Think the anime recolors and edits will be happy?

Do you want your picture posted all over the internet? Of course not. All you have to do is complain to the right people. Not true. Not with the bill at least.

Any picture, sketch, drawing, painting, photo, etc. belongs to no one. You have no rights to your own face. If someone posts it and even profits from it, you can't do anything unless you pay the green-whores for copyright registration and not in general. Each image is separate.

Anyone can steal your character design, your exact image even, with background and everything and you have no rights to complain. The government is trying to help companies who have no business selling artwork that isn't their own and getting money from the registrations as well.

Does this sound like complaining to you? It is. I'm an artist. If that bill is passed, I will get rid of every image I have on the internet. Other artists you see with beautiful works of art, even here on theOtaku will be stolen. Some artists might be too discouraged (like myself) to post anymore drawings. No more fanart people because the image is no longer theirs.

Do you think yours can't be stolen? Maybe...if you're not found and you're not one of the miraculous 1% that the program (the companies have created to find any sort of image) misses. Maybe you'll be the 1% they'll miss everyday, but more likely you'll be the 99% that have their images on companies computers stating there is no copyright to the image and you don't own it.

No matter how much you drew it, colored it, or taken a photo of, it is not yours. A photo of your face can belong to them. Yes, and it can be posted everywhere unless you pay for copyright.

They deny breaking international law, but they are. International law does not allow anyone to force others into copyright.
