This past weekend was my first time selling at a con in the Artist Alley. It went pretty well, I think! :)
Unfortunately, the second convention I had lined up fell through. My boyfriend and our daughter are moving to Missouri because his little brother is in need of a Bone Marrow Transplant and he is the only (healthy) match. And on top of that, he will be staying there for a while to help his family due to not only his brother being unable to do anything for at least 6 months, but his step dad is going to be getting back surgery around the same time and will be wheelchair-bound for a majority of recovery time. So, if things go well, they will be gone 6-8 months. However, if something happens, either rejecting the marrow or actually having to remove his brother's right leg in the end, it will be much longer. Anyways, they leave November 5th, which was going to be the day of the convention. So, I withdrew my table and apologized. Thankfully, they were quite understanding and will be refunding me.
Kicker:
I am about to have more free time than I can handle. Like, I haven't had that much free time in SEVEN YEARS. Not sure how I'll handle being all alone for that long, but I will have time to improve my work and prepare for larger conventions, and plenty of other stuff. Might sleep for a week XD having a wide open 4 year old keeps you on your toes, so this time apart, while it will kill me, would be a blessing for peace and quiet (and SLEEP).
OH, and the reason why I'm not going with them is because they will be living with his family in a small apartment and they have NO ROOM for me whatsoever. So, I'm staying behind so they have a place to return to when its all over.
