HELLOs. MintIceCream here(MIC for short) tis a world about me, and the crazy antics of my 5 cats that just love to drive me nuts.

Gender-female
i recently graduated from college with a BS degree in education, certified for art (I'm an art teacher). i currently sub teach while i shop for a job in my content area.

Mindy-my cat, she's a white cat with tabby splotches all over. She's 15 years old, nonsocial, phychotic, and crazy. But i love her all the same.

Texa-my dad's cat primarily, he has a tuxedo style coat. black with a white strip down his belly, on his paws, and the lower half of his face. he's also a manx(no tail) and very talkative. a gentle giant, very lovable, although he doesn't really like me to well. he's 11 years old. (he's also kind of a cranky old @$$)

Bogart-mom's cat. and mine sometimes. the very fat one of our family. he's 7 year old. a brown tabby who loves to raise chaos. he loves to terrorize the adults, and chew on everything. he's also a big pig and will eat anything. even though he's my mom's cat, he loves everyone. he's quite the ladies man. he prefers the company of women over men.

Sammie-Ryan's cat. 7 year old. he is all gray, with thick soft fur. the sweetest cat in the whole world. he isn't all that smart though, and kinda slow. definatley not our brightest bulb, but we love him all the same. he will do anything for a tidbit of human food, so i have managed to teach him a few tricks. his favorite food is gold fish. we try to tell him it's not a real fish, but he doesn't believe us.

Augustus (GUS for short)- everyone's cat. the newest addition to our family, we rescued him from a cousin who should be banned from owning animals. he was 5 weeks old when we got him, so tiny. he's now 3 years old. he is a miniture norwegian forrest cat. all black, orange eyes, and EXTREMLY fluffy. he is the baby of the family, and res1sident ninja/trouble-maker. he is also quite dog like. he will sit and shake paws for a treat, likes to play fetch, loves meeting new people, and go for walks on a leash and harness.

anyways, have fun, and enjoy the power of the minty-ness.

pregnant rocks

i'm taking a printmaking class this semester. we're starting a new print, lithography. printing off a slab of stone. the teacher showed us how to sand it smooth, and how to put the various mediums on the stone and how they will look when they print. he said that when you put the mediums down on the stone, you are impregnating the stone. o.O weird. but i did choose a stone, the largest i could find. i'm guesstimating that it's 22x30 inches at least. i then spent over an hour courting my stone, sanding it as smooth as possible. i thought about going all the way and start drawing, but my stone and i decided we didn't want to go all the way on our first date.

ANYONE INTERESTED??

i'm thinking of starting a project, and i was wondering if anyone was interested in joining me. i recently found a book that challenges you to make something every day of the year. so after the year has ended, you have made 365 small art pieces. not the key word here, small! the book also has a journal in it, with a prompt for every single day. some example that are included are- make something out of a piece of toast/bread; write a 10 word love story BONUS: illustrate it; make something with just fingerprints; work only with toilet/paper towel cardboard rolls; take a 5 minute walk and wherever you end up use what you find there for your materials today; ect.
really easy, little project. the author chose to do a skull a day for his first year long challenge. i have decided to do a cat a day, using the prompts in the journal part of the book. i plan on making a world devoted just to this project, and early every morning i will post the day's prompt, and later add my documentation of my cat.

i defiantly plan on starting this year-long project March 1st. but i am hoping that someone else will be inspired to take on this challenge with me, perhaps create their own world dedicated to this, or they could be a guest poster on mine. i would love this to be a community effort. it would defiantly be more fun. just comment or p.m. me.

brown m&m

today was school. i started on the new still life in my painting class. i enjoy that class, and talking to the 2 girls who are in my corner, but it's so LONG. my attention span is extremly short. my mind wanders off easily. but i got a lot accomplished.

after painting i had to head to the high school for my field experience. i only had to stay for one period though. the seniors were off on a field trip, so after the junior class i got to go home early. i got home, typed up my relection paper, and have just been relaxing with mom.

but when i got home, i discovered that mom got some new pajamas! i love wearing footie pajamas, and she got me another pair that's dr. sues's one fish two fish red fish blue fish themed. i love it. and my new watch came finally! it's a little death note charm with a clock inside. so cute.

did any of you see the new m&m commercial during the super bowl? with the brown m&m? it's HILARIOUS! you must watch.

puppy bowl!

this morning, at 4:30, mindy decided she had energy and needed to run laps. i keep my bedroom door shut so the boys don't bully her at night, which means my room is her track. she jumps on me, runs down my bed, around my room, me, bed, room over and over. for and hour. thankfully she's really little. so she doesn't always wake me up when she jumps on me.

i ended up being late to work cause of car trouble. my door wouldn't latch shut (after i had to pry it open with a screwdriver, the door was frozen shut because of all the snow yesterday). i had to spray the heck out of my latch and hook with wd40. patra didn't notice me coming in late thankfully.

i was thinking work would be busy. i thought there would lots of people who had to buy last minute munchies for the superbowl. but it was so busy during the week, i don't think there were very many people left to shop. so it was a rather lazy day at work. but there was this one couple from out of state, who say they only come twice a year. they had 4 shopping carts mountain high full of food. i think it took an entire hour to scan and bag. i do not envy the bagger who had that order.

my parents and brother are currently glued to the super bowl. i, myself intend to watch the puppy bowl. with the kitten half time show. kittens beat madonna hands down any day of the week.

snowed in (8-10 inches)

woke up this morning to several inches of snow outside. i was lazy. ate breakfast, worked a little bit on my intaglio print, then have spent the rest of the day online. here, ebay, fanfiction. i bought a book i needed for school, and 4 just for fun. i got the 4 simon's cat books. 2 on my kindle, so i've already pored over them. the other 2 i have to wait for. i think i'm going to try and finish some more of my print tonight, i have to get it done before class on tuesday so that it can sit in the acid for awhile. i need to be able to print my entire edition during class on tuesday.

have any of you ever heard of simon's cat? he kinda reminds me of garfield, except he isn't as sarcastic and doesn't talk. and way funnier?
