# 1 Rule in Slayer's Hanbook: Never Fall in Love with the Enemy

Chapter Fourteen

"Let's save water, Jessie! Let's shower together!"

"'Ya know what, Becca. One of these days you're gonna wake up with a muzzle on your mouth." Matty said.

"And one of these days, you're gonna wake up without a penis." She retorted, taking a bite out of her toast.

"You wouldn't dare hurt Steven!" Matty exclaimed, covering him.

"You named him?" I asked, amused.

"Yes." He replied, easily. "Is that a problem?" He asked.

"No, no." I said, stifling my laughter. "I'm gonna go take a shower. I have Matty cooties!" I exclaimed, sounding disgusted.

"Let's save water, Jessie! Let's shower together!" Matty yelled, a little too happy about the idea.

"Uh, no. I think I'll pass on that one, Matilda." I always loved calling him that in the seventh grade. It would always get him worked up.

I walked upstairs to my room, gathered all the things I needed, and proceeded to the bathroom. I stripped quickly, and stepped into the shower. I let the hot water relax my tense muscles and let out a sigh of content.

Matty's P.O.V

"I dare you to hop into the shower with her." Becca said, that devilish smile playing on her lips. The one I really didn't like.

"I could never do that." I told her, offended that she'd even bring it up. Jessie would be furious, and I have to admit it'd be crossing that invisible line I longed to cross.

"But that doesn't mean you don't want to." She replied. Damn, she knew too much for her own good.

"I still couldn't do that to her. No matter what." I said, mentally putting my foot down to the whole idea.

"A dare's a dare, you can't turn it down." She stated. Of course she would play that card. She knew I hated to turn down dares. But there was something hidden in her intentions, and I really didn't want to find out what it was.

Chapter Thirteen

"Don't deny it, you know you want to."

I woke up to the sound of Matty's loud snoring in my ear. I groaned and rolled over, causing me to fall off my bed.

I looked up at the clock and it read 12:58PM. I grunted in annoyance, while I got up off the ground.

I was definitely no beauty in the morning, nor was I nice. I pushed Matty off my bed, and climbed back into it. I snuggled back into my blankets, and closed my eyes.

"What the hell, Jess?!" Matty yelled, just as annoyed as I was.

"You snore really loud, and you woke me up." I muttered, my eyes still closed.

I heard him get up off the ground, and start shuffling around my room. I then heard a door open, and then close.

It had been five minutes since Matty left the room, and I was sorta getting worried.

Is that it? He's not even gonna push me off the bed?

I waited another minute or so, before dismissing it. I was just about to drift off to sleep, when a bucket of ice cold water was poured all over me.

"Matthew fucking Ryder! I am going to fucking kill you!" I shrieked, getting out of my bed and chasing after him, covered in water.

I chased him all around the house, and I found him hiding behind Becca in the kitchen.

"What'd he do this time?" Becca sighed, sipping some orange juice.

"The little prick poured ice cold water all over me!" I yelled, furious.

"You pushed me off the bed!" Matty retorted, pointing a finger at me.

"Ah, young love." Becca said, a look of awe in her eyes. Matty and I exchanged glances, then we looked at her disgust written all over our faces.

"Ew." Was our only reply. I mean, Me and Matty? No. That's just...No.

"Oh come on, you know you've thought about it. Matty, I've read your diary, and Jess I've read your...emotions." She said. "I know the 'what if' look, you put on near him."

"Wait. Diary?!" I asked, a grin plastered on my face. I saw Matty flush, confirming he indeed did have a diary. I started laughing, uncontrollably.

"Shut up." He huffed, crossing his arms over his chest, while he turned his face away from me. I was wiping away tears that were streaming down my face, because I was laughing so hard.

Kaity walked into the room, rubbing her eyes, groggily.

"Oh, look! Sleeping Beauty has awakened!" Becca announced, proudly. I have a feeling those two will be the best of friends.

"We were just talking about how Matty and Jessie, here, want to bang each other." Becca said.

"WHAT?!" Him and I yelled, simultaneously.

"Don't deny it, you know you want to." Becca said, waggling her eyebrows, pervertedly. I sighed, and shook my head.

Well, it is Becca.

Chapter Twelve

Seeing Him

Matty and Becca decided they'd spend the night, since it was Friday and we could all stay up.

Once we got in the house, we unloaded all the bags, and Becca, Kaity, and I started placing them in drawers and Kaity's closet, while Matty supervised.

Once we were done that, we girls plopped down on the bed. Matty plopped down beside me, and slung on of his arms lazily, over my shoulders.

"Man, that was a whole lot of work." He said, out of breath.

We turned our heads to look at him, before I pushed him off the bed and onto the ground.

"Well, jeez. Don't have to be so rough." He said, getting off the floor.

I rolled my eyes, and went to my bedroom to change. I changed into this, and then made my way downstairs.

I grabbed the phone, and figured I should probably order pizza for supper, once I finished that, I went to take a nap because of my job. Matty also knew about it and so did Becca, but Kaity still was clueless.

~~~
My alarm went off, and I shut it off, with a groan. I got out of bed, and started to get ready. I wore the usual black attire, and I tied my hair up into a pony tail.
I pulled open my window, and swung my legs over. I jumped down, since my room wasn't so far from the ground, and I was off to start another day on the job.
~~~

I pulled my phone out of my pocket and checked the time. 2:48 AM. I slipped it back into my pocket, and walked into an empty park.

I sat down on a vacant swing, and rocked myself gently. I felt the vibrating coming from my pocket, so I pulled out my phone.

Blocked Name

"Hello?" I said into my phone.

"Jessica?" I heard a male voice ask.

"Yes, who's this?" I asked, suspiciously.

"Turn around." He said, then he hung up.

Turn around?

I did what he said, and I saw Dylan.

"Oh, it's only you. Look, can't you just leave me alone? We called it a tie, you said I could go home safely." I told him.

I saw a figure step out from behind him, and I froze with who it was.

"Jess, can I talk to you?" Jake asked, desperately.

"Why so you can call me a wh--- and tell me I don't deserve anything, again?" I asked.

"No, that wasn't--" He started.

"That wasn't me?" I finished for him. "If it wasn't then who was it? Your twin maybe? Oh yea, that's right, you don't have one." I said, coldly.

"Just let him explain." Dylan said.

"Why? He had perfect chances to explain two years ago, and you expect me to let him explain now?" I asked.

"It wasn't my fault." Jake said weakly.

"It wasn't your fault?!" I asked, before laughing hysterically. "That's rich. If it wasn't your fault who's was it?" I asked.

"Alyssa's." He said.

"Alyssa's? So, you're telling me she broke off then engagement and not you? She said all those things to me? She made you kiss her right in front of me? She was the reason I can't look at the mirror for a long period of time, because all I can see is me with you?!" I asked, my never ending rage coming out.

"Well, no, but--" He started.

"That's all I needed to know." I got up from the swing, and made my way back home. Once I got there, I saw Matty int he kitchen, eating some cookies and milk.

"Jess, what's wrong?" He asked, getting p and walking towards me.

"I saw Jake." I said.

"Awe, it's okay, Jessie." Matty said, pulling me into a hug and letting me cry on his shoulder.

Chapter Eleven

Jacob Vaughn

We had finally finished shopping, and Matty was carrying all our bags.

"How 'ya holdin' up, Matty?" Becca asked, looking back at him. He was practically buried in bags.

"Why can't you carry your own bags, again?" He asked, his voice muffled with all the bags.

"Simple. We don't wanna." Kaity said.

I could hear his muttering from behind the bags, I laughed at his colourful language, and we continued walking to the car.

"Hey, Matty. What happened to Dylan?" I asked, helping him put the bags in the trunk of my car.

"He said he had to see a Jacob kid." He said, stuffing in the last bag. The name struck my immediately.

That was Jake's real name. Jacob... Vaughn! I had almost completely forgot about Jake's last name.

Was Dylan Jake's brother?

"Jess!" Matty yelled, from the passenger window. I didn't know I had been standing there.

"Are you going to drive, or not?" Becca asked, poking her head out of one of the backseat windows.

"Uh, yea." I said, shaking off the thought and climbing into the drivers side.

The Past and Shopping

Dylan's P.O.V

~~~
"Sorry about her. She's...well, not herself." I heard the girl named Becca say.
"Yea. She's usually all 'Nice to meet you, wanna be best friends?'. I wonder why she looked pissed off." Matt said.
"Anyways, I better go catch up to them. It was nice meeting you, Dylan." Becca said before going to catch up to the slayer and the other girl.
"So, what do you think of Winnipeg so far?" Matt asked me.
"I have to say, it wasn't what I was expecting, but it's good nonetheless." I told him.
"Yea. Besides winter, it's a pretty nice place to live." He said.
"Would you mind if I asked you a question?" I asked Matt.
"No, ask away." He said.
"Can you tell me more about the sl-- I mean, your friend?" I asked, curiously.
"Which one?" He asked.
"The one with the dark hair."
"Oh, you mean Jessie. Well, yea. I guess I could tell you about her." Matt said. "For starters, she's off limits." He said.
"Why's that?" I asked.
"Well, because once she was in an arranged marriage." He said.
"Go on." I said wanting to know every little detail about my-- I mean, the slayer.
"His name was Jake. I've actually never seen Jess so happy in her life.
But it didn't last. He ended up braking her heart, and he really messed her up. Ever since that, she's had non-stop nightmares every night, she tends to scream his name in her sleep, I've seen cuts and bruises appear on her body, when they weren't there before she went to bed, and she became a va-- depressed. She became depressed." He quickly caught himself.
Jake had told em this story. Except he told me the full version.
The Past
"Jake, it's time to meet your fiance!" Jake's mom called up the stairs.
"Coming!" He yelled from his room. Jake emerged from his room, wearing a tux that his parents got him into to make a good "impression" He walked down the stairs, bored.
~~~

Jessica sighed and leaned back in the car. "Hey, Steve. Mind if I change back here?" She asked the driver.

"You can, but you'll have to roll up the window, and make sure nobody sees you." Steve replied.

"I know." She said, rolling up the window. She pulled off the heels, then the bow in her hair, then the dress, and changed into this.

She was just putting on her left DC shoe, when Steve told her they were there. She pulled it on, then the right, then hopped out of the car. When she went to the trunk to pull out her things, two maids came out and gasped.

"Oh no, dear. That's our job, put the suitcase down!" They shrieked. They scurried towards her, grabbed the suitcase, and ran back inside with it in tow.

"Um, okay then." Jessica mumbled to herself, while going inside. When she got inside, she heard a lady gasp.

"She's beautiful!" Jessica heard her say gleefully. "But where is your dress, darling?" She asked.

Jessica couldn't speak. She was frozen by their beauty. They're chalky white skin glowed, their hair looks perfect with not a strand out of place. The man's eyes were an icy blue, while the woman's was a deep brown.

They both looked flawless.

"Do you speak, sweety?" The lady asked. Jessica could only nod.

"Y-yea. I do." She stuttered out.

"Marissa, she's just shy." The man said to the lady I now know as Marissa.

"No need to be shy, sweety." Marissa said with a kind smile. "Oh! Here comes Jake now." Marissa said happily.

"Dad, I can't fix my-- Oh, she's here." The majorly handsome boy said.

Jessica just stood there, here eyes wide, and her breathing fast paced.

"Are you going to be okay?" The man asked.

Jessica slowed her breathing to a regular pace, but she couldn't stop her heart from beating practically out of her chest. "Yea. Of course."

~~~
Jake and Jessica slowly became attached to each other and before they knew it, they were head over heels for each other.
They were almost inseparable, and they had-- uh, yea. You get what I'm
getting at.
~~~

Just when they thought it couldn't get any better, Alyssa came along. She happened to be one of Jake's many exes. She was determined to win Jake back.

She slowly broke them apart, she made Jake follow her, she constantly was wherever Jake was, and then the day came when she really broke them.

Not only was Alyssa against Jessica, but Jake's sister hated her to the core, as well. Jake's sister, Shannon, was able to do a lot of things for a vampire. She could even manipulate people. So she helped Alyssa manipulate Jake.

Alyssa was able to manipulate Jake, making him fall in love with her. She had made him call off the engagement, and announced he was getting married to Alyssa.

Jessica had to watch it all. She had to watch her former fiance do everything with Alyssa. And the day she was leaving, Jake had called her a wh---, who didn't deserve anything.

Jessica left angry, hurt, heartbroken, and alone. She turned cold, bitter, and now, into a vampire slayer.

My P.O.V

~~~
I had forgotten all about Dylan, as we kept looking for clothes that Kaity could try on.
"How about this one?" Becca asked, holding up a really mini skirt.
"Becca, what did we say? No really tight, short, or anything revealing clothes. Besides, Kaity would never try that on." I said, looking through the shirts.
"It's a possibility." She said.
I rolled my eyes, and picked out a few more shirts for her. I walked over to her dressing room, and knocked on the door.
"Kaity, you almost done?" I asked, in a sing-song voice.
She came out, holding up a pair of skinny jeans, that were three times her size.
"Becca!" She yelled.
Becca walked over to us, looked at Kaity, looked at me, then we both burst out laughing.
"It's not funny!" Kaity whined.
"Yes it is!" Becca said, in-between laughing.
Kaity huffed, grabbed the clothes I was holding and went back into the dressing room.
Becca and I still hadn't stopped laughing, when we made our way out of the dressing room place.
