Hello all fellow nature fans =]
Okay, I think it's about time I add something, and let me say, that there are alot of updates to do around here, I always forget to put it up! X_x. Gomen minna, but alas, I am here and ready to give some goodies for you to check out ^^.
First of all, there's a new member that joined. Please welcome another nature fan, chibi-anna-chan =] thanks so much for joining and for submitting art to the club ^_^. Do you know a friend that is a nature fan or just loves the outside? let them know about this club ^^. The more people around, the more active the club will be. It's just to have a fun time, and at the same time, learning new and interesting things about our complex nature =]. I had things in my mind for this club and I still do, I just need more members. But I think we have enough for something I want to do today =].
All right, let's begin.
Objective: Try to solve and complete the word
S_ _ _ k
The theme is zoology =]. What animal is it?
I'll usually give you hints for the word, but this one is easy =]. If I tell you something, everyone will know XD. If I see everyone has trouble with it, I'll help and put up more clues =]. Just wanted to try and see if you like this enough to keep doing it. Once I see everyone is definately participating in it, and the more we do, the more challenging it'll become :]. Have fun! and you can discuss it in the comments with other members too =]. I'll reveal the answer in my next post, which it won't be put off for a while ^_^;;
I was randomly brownsing around the Otaku fan art and found this cute drawing that I thought I'd share with you all and receive some recognition:

I wanted to say that there are 2 new wallpapers added to the NAA gallery, so please check them out :3 done by yours truly ^^. Wow there's already 3 pages of artwork submitted to the club, so arigato gozaimasu! remember if you have a work that features any kind of nature-related art, submit it here! If you don't know how to submit, the guidelines are up there above this post ^_^.
That's all I have for now :/ yeah it was small, but I'll be back, hopefully soon with alot more new goodies ^^
Until next time!

I think most of us know what Sakura, or Cherry Blossoms, are. But, what made them so significant and popular? Here's a little info on the beautiful tree.
~~Natural History~~
Sakura is indigenous to the Himalayas, including northern India, and to east Asian states such as China, Japan and Taiwan. Japan has a wide variety of sakura; well over 200 cultivars can be found there. Many were artificially hybridized or grafted by Japanese horticulturalists centuries ago.
~Is there a Symbolism?~~
in China the cherry blossom symbolizes feminine beauty, the feminine principle, or love in the language of herbs, in Japan the cherry blossoms are believed to exemplify the transient nature of life, because of their short blooming times.
The transience of the blossoms, the extreme beauty and quick death, has often been associated with mortality; for this reason, Sakura are richly symbolic, and have been utilized often in Japanese art, manga, anime, and film, as well as at musical performances for ambient effect. The band Kagrra, which is associated with the visual kei movement, is an example of this latter phenomenon. There is at least one popular folk song, originally meant for the shakuhachi (bamboo flute), titled "Sakura", and several pop songs. The flower is also represented on all manner of consumer goods in Japan, including kimono, stationery, and dishware.
~~More than one Sakura? :O~~
The most popular variety of sakura in Japan is the Somei Yoshino. Its flowers are nearly pure white, tinged with the palest pink, especially near the stem. They bloom and usually fall (or “scatter,” 散る chiru) within a week, before the leaves come out. Therefore, the trees look nearly white from top to bottom.
Another one called Winter sakura (fuyuzakura/Prunus subhirtella Autumnalis) begins to bloom in the fall and continues blooming sporadically throughout the winter. Other categories include yamazakura, yaezakura, and shidarezakura. The yaezakura have large flowers, thick with rich pink petals. The shidarezakura, or weeping cherry, has branches that fall like those of a weeping willow, bearing cascades of pink flowers.

My opinion:
Wow I didn't realize there were much more sakuras than the pink ones and white ones. The others sound so strange to me XD. Interesting, and no wonder they are so popular, it has a lot of meaning in the symbolism of it. This is one of my favorite trees that, unfortunately, it only comes out once a year during April =/ and I'm allergic!
.
What do you know about Cherry blossoms/sakura? Share your thoughts!
Also, I made a button for the club but I will put it up in my next post. I can't put more than one pic in here X_x.
Thank you Sweetdevil for submiting your current nature graphics to the group and for joining! ^_^
Until the next update!
