I was very grateful that my life was spared by a very 'nice' vampire hunter who didn't feel like killing me since that he saw me as a 'food supply' for him. Well, sticking with him wasn't that bad except for having the fact that he's very sarcastic, dislike doing bothersome works or you could call him a lazy-bum and very careful in everything he did. The fact that he was a new-leveled vampire just couldn't stop amaze me since that they could walk under the direct ray of sunlight, could run faster than any other vampire in the other words, he's invincible! But, what makes me wondered was why did all those hunters worshiped the human king?
"Hey, how long do we have to wait?" He asked abruptly.
"Until twilight I guess," I answered.
"Having you by my side is a bad idea. No wonder those hunters don't bother in having a food supply around them," He moaned.
"It can't be helped. I don't want to be burned..." I replied softly.
"You are a useless vampire. You should just die from the very beginning..." He pouted.
"Well, I already asked you to do so and you refused it," I muttered, a bit angry.
"I hate to do troublesome stuff. Killing you is like wiping out an army of ants," He laughed in a very obnoxious manner.
As my face turned red, I frowned and had my back at him and exclaimed fiercely, "Why don't you just leave me alone and go outside wandering around until it's twilight?!"
"I was planning on doing so but, I can't just leave a useless vampire like you just like that. If the other hunter found you, they'll kill you in a split second. Besides, I'll lost my food supply," He lay down on a nearby couch.
Well, we're inside an inn that he rented. Since that I was his so called food-supply, he had to pay all the bills and as for me, I just had to continue being useless in his eyes.
"Whatever," I paused. "Hey, can I ask you something?"
"Hnnn...??" He grunted.
"Well, at my former place, we were told that you worship the human king. Is that true?" I bluntly asked.
"Woah... hold on a second. Worship who? We don't do the worship thing and that so called king thingy is so not into our likings. Got that?" He explained. "And who told you that?"
"Well, I thought that it was true. Since that it was a myth, I don't have to think about it anymore," I smiled mockingly. "Oh, and good night. I'm nocturnal remember."
"Oh, yeah go and sleep. Don't ever wake up. Don't forget your coffin," He said sadistically.
"If you're nice enough to build one. Oh, before I go to sleep, may I know your name?"
"Why would a food-supply want to know the name of the one who's going to devour them? To dream on being feasted?" He mocked.
"Why are you being so sarcastic? I just want to know your name so that It's easier to call you," I replied back with my tone a bit off. "Well, if you really refuse to tell me that much then fine!" I hurled myself inside a blanket on the bed.
"It's Hansel."
"Pardon?" I asked.
"My name is Hansel Royard," He answered. "And how about you, food-supply?"
"Natalya. Natalya Ashley," I replied.
Then, off I went, back into my peaceful slumber. Though it was kind of awkward since that he's the type of 'I love to mock people', I had to stay silent all the time not to get on his nerve or he would reveal me in the direct sun ray. Did I hate him? I did hate him a bit since that he called me a useless vampire and those harsh words and threw them on my very face. As if I would forgive him for doing so.
To be continued.
As I was lying still on my cozy bed, I was waiting for her return too since she said that she had something that she need to do that for heaven sake I was literally uneasy with it. I wondered what on earth she was doing that made her smile looked kind of sarcastic and even gave me a goosebumps. Since that It was mid-day, I couldn't go out and stalk her like I used to back in the Vampire Land.
The door swung abruptly, giving a loud bang as I jerked out of the bed in alert, in my attacking position even though I know that I would not kill the person. The image of a girl was standing upon me, giving a sneer that made me really uneasy.
"Lara! I thought it was someone else..." I muttered.
"Well, I have a guess for you," She smiled.
Then, an image of a sturdy stature of a fine man walked in with a silver death-scythe gripped at his right hand. My face turned as white as a sheet of a paper as I retreated my pace 2 steps backwards.
"Lara, who is he? What are you doing?" Tears started to water in my red eyes.
She let out an evil laugh and said, "Even though the vampire did save me, but the fact that he was the one who killed my family is just too fatal and it leaved hatred in my heart."
I gulped a few times and kept up my guts to speak, "What about your blood? You let me suck it up..."
"Well, it's no fun to kill without blood-shed. Oh, sorry for keeping you waiting Mr. Hunter... Here's your pray," She bowed at him.
I closed my eyes and knelt upon them helplessly, yielding to my fate since I know from the very beginning. my life was not worth at all.
"Filthy..." He pouted.
"Yes, she is filthy!" Lara was staring at me with with a piercing glare.
"No... It wasn't her... It was you. You better get out of my sight or I'll kill you!" He said, pointing his Scythe towards her.
"What? Wait, but she's your prey! And I called you here!"
"That non-sucking vampire is not worth killing. She'll die eventually and wilt away. And as for you, I hate back-stabber," He gave her an intense killing aura glare that made her flee just that instance.
He turned towards me and gave me a slight nod and started his pace.
"Wait, why don't you kill me?" I bluntly asked.
"Have you no ears? I've told you just now, haven't I?" He gave a lethal gaze towards me. His Malicious sapphire eyes was gleaming sadistically.
"Well, why don't you just speed up the process? I... was exiled and I don't have anywhere to go and you're right... I'm not a blood-sucking vampire but that's not the reason for me..." I paused, trying to hold me tears. "It's not the main reason for me to be sent away from my home!"
"Well, you're wrong. We hunters are well informed about your kind of situation," He replied. "Not being able to have enough guts to sink your fangs on the human neck means that you are against the most important law."
"Then, what do I do?" I asked him again.
"Do you really wish to die?"
I halted. This confusion made me wander in a deep ponder for a while. What an astonishing thing to say and yet he's still refused to kill me. My thoughts ran wild for a second and finally, end up on a very simple conclusion out of my very own heart desire, "I want to live!" I burst into tears.
He gave a slight smile and said, "You're just too pathetic. You asked me to kill you and yet you still want to live. That's kind of bold you know. Since that I know you are a useless vampire, I cannot let my guard down that one day you might be a very vicious vampire."
"Will you kill me?" Fears was written all over my face as my forehead sweated and I frowned with my heart at my neck.
He kept the atmosphere of silence for quite sometimes and finally uttered, "Do you know what we Hunters have our feast on?"
I swiftly shook my head as my answer of 'no'.
"Well, to tell you the truth, we drink the vampire's blood. So, I just can't let my meals run away just like that. From this day onwards, you are my prisoner," He smirked.
My heart broke into thousand pieces as my face turned paler and paler. Vampire's blood? No wonder their prowess were far greater than the Dracula himself.
"Will I die from that?"
"No... But, you'll experience the pain that the human feels whenever one of your kind suck their blood. And don't worry about your food, you are permitted to drink the human blood with my help of course," He answered briefly.
"Well, that's a deal. I don't mind the pain. Since that I'm here, can you help me find my father? He too was banished from our land. Maybe that's where I got my bad traits from," I requested.
"I don't mind that because vampire lurks everywhere."
"Then, Deal!"
From that day onwards, I was with him or I might as well say that I was his prisoner a.k.a 'food supply'.
To be continued.
Finally, I had revived from my unconsciousness that I could not remember how long had it been since the day I passed out. Suddenly, an image of that virtual girl who was talking to me struck my head that made my head almost explode and so had me faint back again. Not knowing how long had I lay in an unknown place, I found out that I was laying on a bed, warm and soft, being wrapped with extra cloth when my eyes finally forced themselves to open. I tried to get up from the bed but unfortunately,I seemed to be in lack of energy that my body fell back on where it lay just now. The room felt weird that the atmosphere seemed kind of merry that I had no idea how to describe. As if the place was allowing me to settle down there, to feel like I was at home.
"Ah, you're awake. I assume that you might be starving," A girl came out of nowhere and entered the room with an enchanting smile carved on her face. She shifted her collar and made her back facing me, "Here, you need blood to survive."
My eyes widened unbelievably, "Pardon, miss..."
"Hurry, or you'll pass out again!" Her said with an urgent tone.
"But, I..."
"Just suck it up or you'll dry up! You haven't been drinking blood for about a week and a half now," She gave a scowl.
I had no more energy to cry and she was right. At this rate, if I didn't drink her blood, I'll dry up and die, "With your permission miss, I'll drink your blood."
Then, I sucked her blood until my body regain it strength and got back on my feet with a smile on my face.
"Thanks. But, I don't understand..." My speech was cut by her when she finally uttered, "With this, will I repay my debt to a vampire who saved me from a were-wolf a long time ago."
"Ah, I see..."
"Be careful! There's a rumor that says that a vampire hunter is heading to this village and I am to keep you indoors. For your own safety, please stay indoors and be sure not to be caught by him okay..." She warned.
I couldn't say no more than just giving her a slight nod as my agreement with her useful information. Even my mother used to warn me about the existence of that kind of being, the vampire hunter who hunted for vampires. Those who sensed the presence of a vampire hunter must flee from the scene because all of us vampires were no match for the prowess of those hunters. Legend had it that the origin of a vampire hunter was a new-leveled vampire who surpassed the Dracula and vowed for their loyalty upon the king of the human being. And since that the vampire hunters were vampires themselves, they need to consume blood to keep on living. None of the vampires knew what kind of blood did those hunters had feasted on that they gained so much prowess and could even surpass their leader as well.
"I will take care of myself and thanks for everything tat you've done for me. If only I could repay you..." I muttered.
"No need too because soon, you will be doing so," She gave out a smirk that made my hair behind my neck stand.
I reckoned that she was plotting something behind my back and I couldn't careless.
To be continued.
"I'll protect you even if it costs my life," That's the line I hated most in my life. I know, I had a very long life-spam plus, they even see me as a useless man-sucking machine that I knew that I was not the kind of vampire who preferred blood most. I hated the idea of sinking my lethal fangs inside their fragile necks and sucked up every bits of their life source which was our food, our source of life. But then would I have to endure starvation with lacks of energy for hunting anymore.
One day, I was summoned before his great one, the lord of all vampires, the Dracula, who owns all the vampire let alone the bats and those wandering were-wolves. If any of us to be found betraying our own kinds, even for a halfer which was recently been bred by a vampire who fell for a He human, would be annihilated leaving no trace of his or her very own existence.
"You called for me, My Lord?" I began to feel the intense atmosphere which was created by his solely stature which was now upon me. I knelt to express my loyalty towards him.
"Yes, I have been expecting you, My Lady. The news I had in mind might be very unpleasant one but this is the least I can do to help you regain your spirit in becoming a perfect vampire," He gestured his fingers touching his beardless chin and was staring sharply towards my lowly figure who was still kneeling before him.
"I could not read what is in your mind, My Lord that I know where I stand and I gain none of those prowess to do so. Please forgive my rudeness for being so stupid not to understand your noble attention," I knew that I started to quiver by that time and so did he noticed my oddly moves which couldn't stay still.
"I'll just have to come clean then. Lady Natalya Ashley, you are the one and only being who failed to be a complete vampire. As to let you be one, we have to send you out to that harsh world and let you survive with your own wits. Will this help you to gain your bravery to suck those filthy human's blood."
As my eyes widened, tears streamed down from my pale cheeks, "Are you saying that I am to be banished for my unwillingness in sucking human's blood?"
He answered with a slight nod and that answered everything. As I covered my mouth and tried my best to hold my tears, it's still futile since that I burst into tears and wailed as much as my heart desired. He said nothing by then and sent me away to the cold outside world of vampire land which was now a foreign place for me to settle in.
With the heavy heart I carried along my journey, not knowing how long had I been walking that was miles away from my former home, being exiled was not a happy thing yet an experience for me to be told to my descendants to have guts when it comes to blood-sucking. Days had passed without me noticing and my strength drained away, leaving a weak body which was still walking. If in the previous day, I had had my parents and my siblings to feed me, now I owned no one in helping me finding my very own meals that I was not so good at it. Even for a slight second, had I thought of yielding to my fate that was not to be existed in this cruel world filled with filth. The breeze from the wind was mocking me and piercing me with its cold maliciousness.
Soon, I began to lose my consciousness and lay still quietly and waited for my body to wilt and died. Dying wasn't that bad if you're a complete useless vampire and I know, I know that after all these years, I had been living under everyone's mercy. Even vampires had no intention in seeing their very own comrades suffer.
"Dad, you said that you'll protect me even if it costs your life," I cried in a weak tone. "Are those bluffing of yours are lies? Am I to be fated this way?" I paused. "Oh, God. Even though I doubted your very own existence, if you're there, please feel pity for me for not sucking one of your beings' blood and had never killed them by any mean."
"I think, the God hears your prayers," A voice reached my ears out of the blue. I raised my head and tried to see the stature but then, the stature began to diminish throughout the horizon and that's where I knew that I was fainted.
To be continued.
It was snowing, showing its white soul of the pureness of Christmas eve. Haruhi was staring outside at the white snow which was pouring down slowly, showing its gentleness and friendliness that what she thought was a lie. The snow was sarcastic and very painful, evilly cold and malicious. That's snow for her. She was still a little girl by that time. She turned towards her motherly father and trotted slowly towards him. "Will mom be here to celebrate Christmas with us?" Her innocent eyes shone with anxiety.
"Haru-chan...." Her father tried to say something. He couldn't make out a word out of it since his beloved wife had passed away a few months ago.
"Daddy?" Her emotionless face locked at her father appearance.
The heart-broken father shook his head slowly. He patted his beloved daughter on the head and said, "She may not be with us this year because she's taking after us from afar... When you miss her, just watch at the stars. She'll reply you back."
"Will she?" Those innocent and yet so beautiful looking eyes were gleaming excitedly.
"Yes, now... Let's pray for her..." The father smiled slightly.
The girl closed her eyes and joined both her hands together and prayed, "God, please take care of mom..."
Tears streamed down from the man's eyes as he tried to hold it from being seen by his daughter. He didn't want her to see him as a weak and an unreliable father. Unfortunately, she saw his tears and patted his back, "Daddy, mom still live in our heart right?"
He hugged her and Nodded continuously, "Yes! Yes! She'll live in our heart forever!"
