A Ghost in Dreamworks

Now what is this I hear?

Quite a buzz I get recently that Dreamworks, apparently acquired the rights to one of anime's most popular titles - about a cybernetic human who has a knack in philosophizing matters concerning her job as a secret government agent & just about anything else. Still guessing? Hey maybe I'm getting too old for this - does "Ghost In The Shell" ring a bell? The buzz has it that Universal & Sony where also after the rights of the popular anime but eventually, Mr. Spielberg snagged it off from the two companies. Don't know if that's a good or a bad thing though hmmmm... Anyway, I gotta say I love Ratatouille, though I'm not sure that would save my sanity if they mess this up - I'll be watching you, Mister.

Dreamworks, supposedly, is planning to make a 3-D live adaptation of the Masamune Shirow masterpiece. Did I mention Charlize Therone looked hot in Aeon Flux? OK, she's far from looking Japanese but when she did her acrobatics & start playing with her guns - did that even sound right? - she keeps of reminding me of how I used to have the hots for Major Motoko Kusanagi. Ohhkeyyy... That said & I think this isn't going anywhere near pleasant - sources say that the film will be produced by Avi Arad(Spiderman, Xmen), Ari Arad and Steven Paul; Jamie Moss(Street Kings, Last Man Home) for the script.

A word of hope for us fans, Mr. Spielberg has this to say:
" 'Ghost in the Shell' is one of my favorite stories. It's a genre that has arrived, and we enthusiastically welcome it to DreamWorks."
