Plot Summary
Heroine wakes up one August day to discover that she has no memory of who she is. In place of her memories came the ability to see a young being named Orion, who tells her that she has to associate with the people coming in and out of her life to get rid of her amnesia and, hopefully, solve the mystery behind it.
Story
This anime's plot is full of mystery and intrigue. However, the questions start early and aren't answered very quickly until the final few episodes, and the lack of answeres in between may bore some people.
This isn't to say the middle is useless; it focuses on smaller stories to develop characters and grow suspense for the power-house ending.
As for the mystery itself, it's isn't predictable in the least and keeps the watcher guessing until the end. The end is amazing in that it ties up everything without it being confusing.
Still, the answers give you room to ponder and realize little things that you missed, making the earlier plot more developed than you initial reaction.
Some people may have an issue with how the anime officially ends, however.

Characters
The main character is a dud. Kristen Stewart had more personality than the main character. This obvious flaw could spoil the entire anime for some people.
However, if you look past that, the characters she associates with all get really strong development, giving them a solid personality and making each one relatable.

Animation
For the most part, the anime has solid animation. It stays consistent and fluid with few flaws without taking any risks or creating any stand-out moments.
The place where animation really shines, though,is the character design. Each of the main characters has a great outfit that has their own style and is very recognizable.

Music
This anime has both an amazing opening and an incredible ending. Sleek animation combined with great music makes them memorable.
The soundtrack, however, has very little stand-out tracks. However, they knew which tracks were the best and played them in the most important parts, adding what it needs to.

I've seen people both hate and love this anime. While it has it's flaws, it definitely has its strong points.

I think this is the hardest review I've done. I've seen people absolutely love it (as did I) and others absolutely hate it. So the entire time I had to keep in mind a perspective I didn't agree with and couldn't quite understand.
Ukyo is both mine and my best friend's favorite, but I got him first ♥

Why didn't this anime make my top 10 anime? Oh, yeah, I put FLCL above it... eh, it's an honorable mention.
