Ping Pong The Animation Review

Plot Summary

Smile and Peco are best friends and are the best ping pong players in their school's club. However, they each have their differences in their lives and in their struggles to discover who they are and what they want out of life and out of the game ping pong.

Story

The story is well done. It moves decently fluidly and manages to make you feel a little emotional. However, there are a few slow-moving moments, a few confusing moments, and overall there is little to make it stand out from other anime.

7.5

Characters

The characters are absolutely incredible. Throughout the anime it focuses on different characters, each with their goals and dreams and develops them extremely well throughout the anime. There is not a single character left undeveloped.

9.1

Animation

The animation is very unique compared to most anime. It wouldn't be considered beautiful by conventional standards, but its unique style makes it beautiful in its own way. It manages to express a lot while saying a little However, because of the drastic change from what is the norm within the realms of anime, it may turn quite a few away from it.

8.4

Music

Both the openings and endings were great, entertaining and fit well with the anime.

The background music is also beautiful, having a few standout moments. However, it doesn't stand out quite enough to become completely significant.

8.6

Overall

Ping Pong The Animation is amazing. There simply is no denying it. If you are willing to get around the animation style barrier, you are in for a real treat.
