theOtaku.com Anime Podcast VIII - Ep. 22

Well then! Seems Ichigo chose to record a day early. Just for that, I'm doing captions tomorrow! So everyone blame him - and yes, that is just my deflecting on behalf of my own procrastination. Still, that doesn't help that we didn't have enough news so Ichigo actually ANNed us this week - guys, submit that thar news! Other than that, this week everyone commenting is obligated to tell one embarrassing story from their past. It'll be fun. Also, Goro.

Attack of the zombie foreigners... yeah, I could get in on that. Also, Ichigo's enthusiasm for ReBoot saddens me. What can ya do?

Caption Battle: The Earth Screams Hello...

"It's that time again..."
"To re-roll?"
"To give the priest the chainsaw?"
"No... it's time for this week's caption battle!"

But first, last week's winners:

In third place, short and sweet and playing off the given faces: Koobaxion!

Ed: "Got your nose!"

In second place, because reality television is out of control: TimeChaser!

Fullmetal Prison Guards. The new reality series premiering this fall on Spike TV.

And in the coveted first place with a beautiful and slightly icky payoff... xfishyx!

Judging by his face, the prisoner just transmuted Alanine, Arginine, Ascorbic acid, Allantoin, Amino acids, Bicarbonate, Biotin, Calcium, Creatinine, Cystine, DHEA, Dopamine, Epinephrine, Folic acid, Glucose, Glutamic acid, Glycine, Inositol, Iodine, Iron, Lysine, Magnesium, Manganese, Melatonin, Methionine, Nitrogen, Ornithane, Pantothenic acid, Phenylalaline, Phosphorus, Potassium, Proteins, Riboflavin, Tryptophan, Tyrosine, Urea, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, and Zinc in his pants.

I had to google that to get the full joke. It was totally worth it.

This week's screencap comes courtesy of 1dev13 and features the series Bleach. Guy on top is Tessai Tsukabishi; guy on bottom is Johnny Yong Bosch. Keep it classy, folks:

You know the drill: type up the funniest, wittiest, most original caption you can think of for the screencap above in the comments below. Also, if any of you would like some tips on writing a great caption, you can find those here.

And like always, theOtaku is open to all submissions and suggestions for weekly feature content. You have a screencap you want used, you can PM me and we can do somethin' about it. So good luck, and remember: woodchucks clearly chuck wood - stop getting all hypothetical about it.

Fan Header Month!

Thanks to everyone who submitted entries to our impromptu fan header month, where your art can appear on the top of every theOtaku.com page.

We were thrilled by the entries and will be sporadically using a lot of them.

If you missed the submission deadline, don't fret. Since we received so many entries, just add more to the original thread and we'll consider them all.

The only mistake that kept coming up was that a lot of you put the background gradient on the right side of the image instead of the left side. This makes the header look a bit cut off when you're looking from left to right. Feel free to re-submit if you made that mistake.

Cheers and I look forward to displaying these!

Gordon Lightfoot is pretty awesome, yeah. Also, we need to hear this guy sing Kiseki by BoA some time...
Married!Ichigo also finds your lack of comments disturbing. Fix that. Or he will force choke your or something. And he'll do it to Guile's Theme. Or eat your brains. Probably.
