Caption Battle: Photoshoots Are Hard...
"It's that time again..."
"To ready the DVR for post-Christmas television?"
"To put on those snow tires we needed last month?"
"No... it's time for this week's caption battle!"
But first, last week's winners:
In third place, because rhyming parodies will never hurt your chances: BloodRedArab!
"I'm a little teapot, short and stout,
Here is my handle, and here is my spout.
When I get all steamed up, hear me shout!
I'm passive-aggressive and scalding water pours out!"
In second place, because aerosol deterrents are always funny: lazyweird1!
Today's item on this edition "Antiques Road Show" is Ye Olde Pepper Spray!
And in the coveted first place position, no-nonsense as ever... TimeChaser!
They've got some crazy s--t in Holland.
And let it be known that in examples as the above, you win with the delivery, not the vocabulary. Also, I was probably in a fickle mood today.
Ahem.
Moving on to this week's caption battle in this accursed "Rozen Maiden Month" courtesy of Moeman Des', we have the twins (left to right) Souseiseki and Suiseiseki. Think of this week' image as a creative exercise; see if you can draw out the funny:

You know the drill: type up the funniest, wittiest, most original caption you can think of for the screencap above in the comments below. Also, if any of you would like some tips on writing a great caption, you can find those here.
And like always, theOtaku is open to all submissions and suggestions for weekly feature content. You have a screencap you want used, you can PM me and we can do somethin' about it. Meantime, podcasters evidently have some sort of high standard for these and as such are harsh critics. Give 'em something to shut 'em up. I promise it'll feel good...
Caption Battle: Rozen Maiden Month...
"It's that time again..."
"To try to assassinate Hitler?"
"To listen to Morgan Freeman's voice?"
"No... it's time for this week's caption battle!"
But first, last week's winners:
In third place, because Dragonball references are usually funny if not tragic: Rei-syn!
This is another example of Dragon Ball Z's fusion dance gone wrong.
In second place, being a factor for many future weeks to come: red tigress!
Aizawa: "I feel like we're just looking at the last two weeks' caption battles combined."
And in the coveted first place, nailing the best reference of the past many months... red.alchemist!
I hate it when my schwartz gets stuck! Okay, maybe if you put your hand here... okay, your leg here... okay, now push.
Bwahaha... Space Balls... anyway, good stuff.
A'ight, on grounds that screencap submissions and Ye Olde Archives have been running a little thin as of late... you're all in for trouble now.
Courtesy of Desbreko and his monstrous moe appetite... January is officially "Rozen Maiden Month" in the caption battle. Be afraid.
This week's screencap features Suiseiseki on the left and someone whose name I missed when I nabbed this shot - it's probably not that important in the long run. See what you can do:

You know the drill: type up the funniest, wittiest, most original caption you can think of for the screencap above in the comments below. Also, if any of you would like some tips on writing a great caption, you can find those here.
And like always, theOtaku is open to all submissions and suggestions for weekly feature content. You have a screencap you want used, you can PM me and we can do somethin' about it. Let's see what you can do... and yes, spammers will be taken care of in unpleasant ways possibly including quicklime and/or electric flyswatters. Not that I'm not forgiving or anything, just saying...
Caption Battle: Victim/Assailant Confusion
"It's caption battle time. Happy New Year."
But first, last week's winners:
In third place, because pretending to not call girls fat is always good for grins: AsagiTaichou!
I didn't do it! She just started crying! But I SWEAR I didn't call her "fat"!
In second place, reading the screencap for all it was worth: Ichigo of Anime Pulse!
Akane couldn't bear to face Shampoo and co. after the amazing zinger regarding her fiance's yellow scarf.
And in the coveted first place, being funnier depending on who you are... TrinityLight!
AHH YOUR HAND IS COLD!
Bweh heh heh... good job, guys and girls.
So this week's screencap comes courtesy of Ryosuke Forever and features the series Nabari no Ou. Going from left to right, the characters are: Raimei Shimizu, Miharu Rokujou, Tobari Kumohira, and Kouichi Aizawa. Give 'er a go:

You know the drill: type up the funniest, wittiest, most original caption you can think of for the screencap above in the comments below. Also, if any of you would like some tips on writing a great caption, you can find those here.
And like always, theOtaku is open to all submissions and suggestions for weekly feature content. You have a screencap you want used, you can PM me and we can do somethin' about it. All of you have a happy new year; don't ruin this current year with crummy captions, now!
Caption Battle: Awkwarrrrrd...
"This week's very special Christmas Caption Battle is brought to you by ACME!"
"Whenever we're feeling blue,
here's what we always do,
when your face is long, sing the ACME song,
you'll feel so fresh and new!"
But first, last week's winners:
In third place, because not everyone likes to be called hopeless-but-cute: Koneko Krysta!
Ichigo never dared to use "Rukia" and "moe" in the same sentence ever again after this.
In second place, because Johnny Yong Bosch jokes never get old: TrinityLight!
GO GO POWER RANGER!
And in the coveted first place, driving to the basic heart of the funny... Grayfire!
Rukia cannot dance. Period.
Special mention also needs to be made to Aceburner, who took my fishing bait and actually made something awesome out of it... less mention shall be made of people who unwittingly took said bait. Either way, this week was a quality week for captions. You've all pleased an old man's heart. Thank you.
Being that it's only five sleeps until Christmas, I figured something festive was necessary. So, this week's screencap comes once again from Ye Olde Archives (and Batou - you're a fun guy and I love ya in the platonic way yaoi girls hate, but I'm saying this to you specifically since this comes up every week I do this and you haven't quite figured it out yet - "Ye Olde Archives" refer to my [me, SomeGuy, the guy who does the caption battles] collection of screencaps that I have also picked up). The shot comes from the Ranma 1/2 Christmas OVA, and features Ranma Saotome in the blue and Akane Tendo in his lap; further, if you must know, the girl in the pink pants is Shampoo and the girl in the navy blue tights is Ukyo - the guys in the background are named Harold and Kumar. That's probably more than enough description for one week... you know the rest:

You know the drill: type up the funniest, wittiest, most original caption you can think of for the screencap above in the comments below. Also, if any of you would like some tips on writing a great caption, you can find those here.
And like always, theOtaku is open to all submissions and suggestions for weekly feature content. You have a screencap you want used, you can PM me and we can do somethin' about it. Happy captioning, and Merry Christmas as always!
Caption Battle: No-Panty Flash?! Skill...
"It's that time again..."
"To berate SomeGuy for being late again?"
"To--"
"It's time for the caption battle!"
So yes, last week's winners:
In third place, going the route of evil soul collector: Aceburner!
Tama sensed something was amiss after every question he asked Hayate throughout the day was quickly met with "YOUR IMMORTAL SOUL!"
In second place, dropping taking Domo-kun's place for internet awareness: themakita!
For every 13 year old that tries to download porn off the internet, a cute white tiger dies.
Please think of the tigers.
And in the coveted first place, using all of six words that work on oh so many levels... cougarsama!
Hayate: Is there a Visine for this?
This was an amazing week. Lots of good stuff and I'm extremely proud of all of you. Let's keep that up, shall we?
Alright, so this week's screencap comes courtesy of AsagiTaichou and features good ol' Bleach for its subject matter. For those of you who need 'em, the girl on the left is Michelle Ruff; the guy on the right is Johnny Yong Bosch. Go for it:

You know the drill: type up the funniest, wittiest, most original caption you can think of for the screencap above in the comments below. Also, if any of you would like some tips on writing a great caption, you can find those here.
And like always, theOtaku is open to all submissions and suggestions for weekly feature content. You have a screencap you want used, you can PM me and we can do somethin' about it. Remember, only you can prevent bad yaoi jokes...
