“I want it all”

{Chinami POV}

“He really has changed, he’s not the Sasuke we knew, Chinami. He tried to kill Naruto, I never thought that our reunion would be so heartbreaking,” Sakura said looking down at her swinging feet as she sat together with me. We hadn’t talked much but there was one thing that we shared in common. We both love, Sasuke Uchiha.

My brows furrowed, I couldn’t imagine Sasuke trying to kill Naruto without so much as a blink of an eye. But, Sakura had saw him on their last mission, so it had to be true. But, I just couldn’t bring myself to believe it. So I just smiled and blocked it out.

“Don’t worry about it Sakura. At least you know that Sasuke is okay and not Orochimaru’s new toy,” I forced out a laugh to make her smile ever so slightly. I could never share Sasuke if I had him, but neither Sakura nor I did, but she was already one step ahead of me.

I would never admit it, but I had hoped that I would be the one to see Sasuke first after all those years.

“So was Sasuke still as good looking as ever?” I asked playfully still trying to cheer up the pink haired girl. Her frown was placed with a tiny dreamy smile.

“Still the same as ever! His looks matured so much! If only you were there to see him Chinami!” She exclaimed recalling the vivid image. Bitterly all I could do was close my eyes and picture the same raven-haired boy who left three years ago. Clad in his same high collared navy blue shirt and that cold expression he always wore.

“Sakura let’s call it a day shall we? We can talk about Sasuke all we want another time,” I joked. The more I smiled the more my heart broke. It was always Sakura. Sakura this. Sakura that. I stood by Sasuke for so long and supported the cold bastard and just like that he left without a single good bye.

I waved farewell to Sakura as she turned to walk away. When I could no longer see her I bit my lip to stop the sting of tears. I never asked for anything, but I’ve never wanted anything more than Sasuke.

[2 months later]

“Chinami, are you listening to me?” Tsunade asked me a little annoyed by now.

Since my last talk with Sakura I had been a little spacey lately. Sasuke plagued my mind, if I wasn’t thinking about something important, then my mind somehow wondered back to Sasuke. Not that I minded at all, but it just got a lot more depressing as the days passed. At some point I accepted that it would be a long time until I was reunited with Sasuke, or I would never see him again. I was content with my day dreaming, for now.

“Hm, of course I was Tsunade,” I replied. My voice laced in a very sarcastic tone.

This was just another “Sasuke rescue mission.” One after another they all failed. I was not excited at all, this would most likely be a failure just like the last, but this mission was my own solo mission, at least I didn’t have to worry about comrades getting injured.

“Good, then you leave now.”

I gaze a half assed bow and turned my heel to leave. Before I made it out the door I was stopped by Tsunade’s voice.

“I know you’re angry that you weren’t allowed to accompany Team 7 on their mission,” Tsunade said and it hit a nerve.

“I really don’t know what you’re talking about. It would not have made a difference if I had gone or not. Sasuke would still be a missing nin.” I spat out not turning around to talk to her. With that said I opened the door and slammed it behind me.

[Sasuke POV]

Karin snuggled up next to me around the campfire as Jugo and Suigetsu bickered about something silly.

My heart grew heavy as so many thoughts flew around my head. Itachi was good. Itachi saved the village. Itachi this. Itachi that. Even after he was dead he still plagued my thoughts and taunted my every action. I doubted myself a little by gave myself a mental slap in the face. My new mission was to destroy the village that took everything away from me. I was still an avenger.

Nostalgia took over for a moment as I thought back to the academy days. I thought about her. If it had been Chinami there to stop me, would I have left. There was no use thinking about it now; what’s done is done. Still, it was always nice to reminisce.

-Flash Back-

Out of breathe continued to run from the mini mob following close behind. It seemed that my “fan club” got a lot bolder today and started following me, which lead into a chase montage.

Hiding briefly behind some trees, near the training grounds, to catch my breath I started to hear their shrill voiced draw closer.

‘Damn it,’ I thought as I tried to quiet my breathing.

Just as I thought I was going to be caught I felt myself being yanked up violently by my shirt collar into the tree I was seeking refuge. I was going to yell at the person for choking me but I was cut off by a pair of small hands slamming against mouth to shut me up.

I looked up to meet a pair of grey blue eyes. The girl before smiled a little, her dark hair framing her face perfectly. She broke eye contact as she firmly kept her hands over my mouth as she gazed down at the group of girls as they walked right under and past us.

When the coast was clear she removed her hands and let out a sigh of relief. “That was a close one, right Sasuke?” Her voiced sounded more like a question than a statement. I just furrowed my brows and scoffed.

“I’ll take that as my thank you,” She laughed as she turned and smiled at me.

I felt my face heat up a little, no girl has ever acted to forward before, it was something I wasn’t use to.

“Chinami Keako,” She said all of a sudden.

“Excuse me?” I asked not sure what she meant.

“My name is Chinami Keako,” She repeated with a small pout. I nodded slightly showing her I understood.

She jumped out of the tree and landed on her feet gracefully. Looking back up at me she smiled again. “Don’t stay up there too long now! Or else I’ll have to save you again!” She found it amusing but I just ignored the comment and sat there brooding.

“I’ll see you tomorrow in class Sasuke! Remember my name now or I’ll have to hurt you!” Chinami exclaimed as she waved good-bye to me.

As she walked away I stole a glance. It was love at first sight.

-End Flash Back-

I must have been reminiscing too long. I looked over and saw Karin asleep soundly leaning against my shoulder. Carefully I placed her down on the grass as she continued to sleep soundly. My peaceful state of mind was disturbed as I felt an eerily familiar chakara. My guard was now up, I decided to do some investigating. There was no need to disturb everyone else because of my curiosity.

Dashing from tree to tree soundly my black coat flapped behind me silently. Abruptly I stopped when I found the source of the chakara. My heart stopped. There was Chinami, she just sat at her own campfire without a care in the world. You glared at her slightly.

‘Why was she here? Unless she was sent to find me.’ I thought

Leaning forward to get a better look at her, she still looked the same. The same grey blue eyes and dark shimmering hair. Only now she much older and more beautiful than before.

In a blink of an eye Sasuke caught a shuriken between his fingers. He pressed his luck too far. Chinami was glaring in the direction that he lay hidden. Sasuke’s heart raced with adrenalin as he gazed upon her dark features. All’s fair in love and war.

[Chinami POV]

“Sasuke I know it’s you, come out!” I shouted as you felt your blood rush from anger.

Without hesitation Sasuke immerged from his pathetic hiding place. If I hadn’t known better, Sasuke wanted to be found out. I continued to glare at him, keeping your guard up.

“Chinami,” he finally spoke. I lost your nerve. He sounded sincere, cold but sincere. “You’re not bringing me back.” He cut straight to the point.

His gaze not changing as he spoke, I was at a loss for words. “Then I’ll make you come back!” I yelled back trying not to lose my cool anymore.

“You’re going to die if you fight me. You’re not stupid Chinami.”

I stood my ground he was right. If fighting wasn’t going to bring him back maybe words would.

“It’s not fair,” that’s all it took to gain his attention. “You always get what you want! And don’t act like you don’t! Word spreads fast Sasuke! I know you took your revenge on Itachi! So-“ I started to choke on my words and I felt myself gasping for air. Panic took over my body as the tips of my toes just barely grazed the ground.

Sasuke’s grip around my neck stayed firm as he gazed into my eyes. I couldn’t read his emotions, and it scared me.

“I get what I want?” Sasuke’s voice was so calm it shook me to the core. “Chinami, I never get what I want. Power, Justice, Closure, but I never get it no matter how hard I work!” His voice dripping with venom as he spoke to you.

A single tear slipped from my eyes as he continued. “Itachi wasn’t what I thought he was! Everything I knew growing up was a lie! I’m once again an avenger Chinami! So don’t you dare tell me I get everything.”

“Sasuke, I’m sorry,” I said between gasps for air.

Sasuke suddenly released you from his vice grip. Your hand shot up to your throat as you flew to the ground. You sat there in a daze and feeling light headed from the lack of air supply. I coughed harshl, I never felt so happy to do something as breath in my life.

Sasuke kneeled down to my eye level. Grabbing a hold on to me face I were forced to look into his coal black eyes.

“I want it all Chinami. I want you.”

The words did not register as he placed a simple kiss on my lips. He didn’t take it any farther. The words hit me hard as he pulled away slowly; my heart began to ache. I shut my eyes and let three years worth of tears spill out.

“You jerk! Why couldn’t you say that before you left!” I ripped my face out of his grip and sobbed into my hands.

"Because I couldn't have you." These words only made you cry harder.

“Shinobi rule number 25, ‘A shinobi never shows their heart’s emotion’” Sasuke recited the rules from he academy days. Screw the academy, I was still human. I loved Sasuke, and I don’t care if I was faulted for it.

Sasuke got up without a word. With his back turned towards me, the dull pain sharpened. This is how Sakura must have felt. He was leaving again. Dashing to my feet I wrapped my arms around his waist pulling him close.

“Sasuke don’t leave again!”

“The next time you see me, I’ll be your enemy again, and it’ll be our last reunion.” My hands dropped abruptly, and hung limp. He walked away without a word, again. Just like that.

“Jerk,” I whispered to myself, “I want it all too.”

This was what I expected from the stoic Uchiha.

This was Sasuke’s final good bye.

**Omake**
This one shot was requested by KunoichiCat, and this is her OC Chinami Kaeko. I really hope that I did a good or at least decent job of catpuring both Sasuke and Chinami. Sasuke was had enough since he's like a brick wall. :/ I think this one was kind of sad, not tragically sad but a little angst never killed anyone. So Thank you all for reading!
