Rays of sunlight were peeking through my shades. I was just coming too slowly, it felt like yesterday was surreal, but the effects of the alcohol, well those were way to real. I laid in bed feeling nauseous not wishing to go on with my day but what was the point in that? I needed to get going. Sitting up and placing my self in a chair position on the edge of my bed I held my head in my hands pondering the events that had occurred the day before.
Maybe it was all a nightmare and just maybe Hoom was still in the mansion. However, who was I kidding, it would be hard to put into words but I could sense that wasn’t the case and that this mansion was a bit more empty per say.
Forcing myself up I figured I better start my day off. It appeared to be around 9:30, but with the force of the standup came the feeling to throw up. So by 10:00 am, I was done with a shower, puking my brains out and getting dressed and freshen up. Adjusting my glasses as I headed to the door I saw a note on the floor.
“Just talk to me, Lux…. No one deserves to be alone, even if something like this has happened… Please don’t hurt the people who love you… Please… -Shupple”
She was right, and low in behold I found myself in front of her door. I was ready to knock when I let out a sigh. I wasn’t ready to face her just yet but I would apologize to her for hurting her…
As I walked down the girls area I stopped in front of Hoom’s former room, with a twist of the knob the door opened and to my surprise it had appeared like no one ever lived there. It was empty. Just a few things left behind like a bed, some sheets, a table tan, night stand, lights, and-…..my heart dropped.
Walking over to her bed and sitting down I picked up the teddy bear I gave her before our date for the Valentine’s Day Ball. So everything yesterday wasn’t just a nightmare. It was real. Just staring at the bear hurt me because it was a gift that came from my heart, regardless it really meant nothing to her, well it did at a moment.
“Lux-kun?”
I blinked and looked up. I suppose it was logical for me to be caught in a daze since I have so many things running across my mind. Standing in the room frame was Estelle.
“Good morning.” I smiled at her.
“Is it true?” She asked taking one step closer. “Is it true about you and Miss Hoom?”
Standing up with the teddy bear in hand, “Yes it is.” I looked the other way at the mirror then faced her again with a smile. “No need to worry about it though okay Estelle?”
“But Lux-kun?” She took a step closer. “Don’t put on such a strong act, I kno-“
Placing my pointer finger on her lips I stopped her. “I’m not acting Estelle; I have already accepted that she is gone. Besides I’m used to it.”
“What about that teddy bear?” She asked. I looked at it and blinked.
“I suppose I will just keep it for the time being in my room, no reason to get rid of it or anything.” I rubbed the back of my head and walked pasted her.
Suddenly she grabbed my arm which shocked me as I turned over my shoulder to look at her. “I….I remember everything you know…”
“I know…” My voice as a bit more sad. “Estelle-chan..”
“So you don’t need to act so high and mighty, you have friends too! Friends who will listen.” She pulled me to face her, she looked like she was about to cry. Why? “It’s not like you’re-“
“Alone?” I finished her sentenced. She nodded. “Estelle, I’m used to this actually. I’ve been alone for most of my life so this isn’t anything new.”
“What about us?”
“What about us? You have Tanner now and besides,” I turned and continued to walk, “I was left alone the day you erased your memories of me. So I am used to being shunned and forgotten by the people I care about. At least when you are alone, there isn’t anyone there to hurt you….”
I left her behind going back to my room to drop the teddy bear off. After that I went to the kitchen. It was around 10:30ish now and as I made a hardy breakfast and kept to myself lost in thought I guess Tanner came and accompanied me. It was strange as he sat down with me and he started up a small talk with me. Seriously the name Roland? That was an odd name to give him, how old is that name like 100 years? I doubt my great great grandparents even were named that.
As he continued to eat I knew better and knew exactly why he was here.
“Why don’t you ask me since both of you are trembling to know?” I told him getting up and putting the dirty dishes in the dish washer.
“Oh you got us!” Tanner or Roland said, I believe it is Tanner because he tends to be more cheery. I could figure this out with due time. “I guess I will get straight to the point, have you told Shupple anything?”
My tail wagged behind me as I placed them in the dishwasher and frowned at him, “It’s really none of my business. That’s something you have to do. It’s not my place to tell Shupple that and for that matter, Estelle.”
“Thank you, I would appreciate that.” He told me finishing up his salad, I extended my hand for the dishes and he gave them to me. “Thanks.”
“Why are you thanking me? It’s not my problem, it’s yours.”
“Geez,” He stood up, “Damn blue cat doesn’t understand how it feels to share a body with another.
My ears twitched, that was Roland I could tell. “I’ll ignore that last comment.”
“But honestly, Lux you have no idea this pain I am in with this guy, and what he makes me do..” Tanner sighed.
“Be grateful, it could be far worse…” I said remembering my past….
“True you could be Remnis…” Roland stated.
I stopped and I heard a gasp from the flower plant, was that something I wasn’t suppose to hear. I turned and faced them sternned face. “Who is Remnis?”
Tanner looked the other way and gave in and told me about Aberius dark side and what had happened between him and Roland. He even stated that it was possibly destiny that they battle but there was no doubt that Aberius’s dark self was mighty and even more powerful then anyone could imagine.
“Well that explains a lot about his growth spurt.”
“Indeed.” He shook his head.
“Just a question….will your other side ever hurt Shupple?” I deadpanned. He stood there silent unsure of the answer. “I see…” I forced him against the wall and held his collar tight. “You say I don’t understand what having another being in my body feels like? Well have a look?”
Taking a step back the marks of my King’s disease were all over my body as my eyes glanced into Tanner’s eyes jet black as the night. “See this, I used to have another being in my body, it was only a matter of hours, but he hurt so many of the people here at the mansion and nearly killed them. Lucky for me I was able to defeat him and claim this power as my own, it does come with its consequences needless to say. But if you, Roland, hurt Shupple, I’ll kill you both…”
“Testy testy…” The Tangrowth smiled. “Sounds interesting if you I do say myself.”
“Shut it Roland.” Tanner managed to fight him self in control then turning back, “I guarantee that won’t happen. Roland won’t do that because he’s too damn stubborn to admit he cares about her as much as I do.”
“Right answer.” I shrugged walking off.
“Wait Lux.” Tanner exclaimed and I turned again. “Sorry…I…don’t want to ruin our friendship even with everything that has happened in the last 24 hours.”
I smirked, “We’re cool….” I returned to normal and was on my way.
THUD! That’s where we found stub also known as Delin and helped him out. He needed help with rooms and such. It was rather obvious he was having troubles with his girl and thus I gave him a bit of advice, didn’t want the sap to go down the same road I did so I dismissed myself and headed back to my room. I could hear the rain hitting the roof as I walked up the steps.
Not even 5 minutes later damn carrot for brains finds me and hands me a note stating to meet in the pool area around 11:30 for a meeting. I guess I was obligated to do so since she hit me with her ear which didn’t faze me at all. Typically I would have started fighting with her but I just let it be water under a bridge. She possibly could tell I still didn’t like her for what she did last time and possibly something else.
That’s when I saw this strange human girl roaming the building.
“Do I know you?” I grumbled as I approached.
“Um, no, I’m Maria!” She smiled sweetly. I couldn’t tell what she was but by her scent she smelt like Minum.
“Hmm, I see. Why are you here?” I asked flatly.
“Well, I left my grandparents house because when I was little my parents-” She started.
“Yeah yeah sob story, whatever.” I muttered. I didn’t care to hear it. I was too damn annoyed with everything around me. “We all have those.”
“Oh…”
I blinked and looked at her at her face which seemed uneven. I assume it was makeup because it was not put on very well. More like she was trying to cover up features, and since she was a gijinka it made it more obvious. “What’s all over your face?”
“There’s nothing on my face!” She acted innocent, but I wasn’t buying it as my annoyance grew.
“…are you stupid? I think you used too much makeup. Girls look prettier without it.” I was a bit blunt.
“I…”
“That’s right, she didn’t wear much, and she was beautiful…everyone else was hideous compared to her…” Damn it, I can’t get her off my mind.
“Are, you saying I’m ugly?” She asked.
She looked as if she was going to cry, geez, not what I meant. Way to walk into a whole asshole. “Not, um, ugly... but it makes you look plastic...and fake, now can I get through?” I muttered. She moved aside and I walked past her. “Name’s Lux.” I added walking away not that I felt great about the way I left it with her but I just needed to be alone for a little while.
Returning to my room, I noticed some flowers, roses to be exact of many different colors awaiting me. I don’t recall having those and even more strange was that they were left for me A GUY!?! Well the jester was nice. Even the smell was amazing which lead me to stray away from the main reason I had returned to my room. I figured the pool would be a good place to relax for the meeting and once I arrived in my swimming trunks, tank top and towel my first destination was the hot tub. Tossing my towel and my tank top on a nearby chair and then placing my glasses on the towel, I slowly lowered my body into the hot tub and relaxed as the bubbles hit against my back.
Soaking it in I just looked up at the ceiling when I heard someone else enter. It was-
“Shupple?” She turned quickly holding her breath like she was embarrassed because I sort of watched her take off her clothes to be in her bikini, actually this was the first time I saw her partially naked other then when she changed into pajamas at the hospital. I grinned at her and waved her over, “You actually have a nice body for that suit.”
“Okay I am think I am going to walk away…” She rolled her eyes.
Extending my hand to her and frowning, “Please just join me by cuddling with me for awhile, I feel so lonely.”
“Alright.” She lowered herself down and dangled her feet in the hot tub beside me. “How are you feeling?”
“I should be asking you how you are feeling,” I sighed placing my right arm on the ledge of the tub. She didn’t say anything. “Last night, I hurt you…”I bit my lip, this was harder then I thought. “What you saw, I, I’m sorry it’s just so hard to get the words out right. So much has happened. Shupple forgive me I never meant to hurt you.”
I felt her hand on my head, “You know I should really dunk you right now…” She had a slight smile on her face. “That would be fair.”
I guess that meant she had forgiven me as she placed her head on mine. “You know, if you weren’t with Arc right now I’d love for you to be my girlfriend.” I looked at her and she turned red.
“Ah well..” She quickly turned the other way.
I smirked and grabbed her hand and kissed it teasing her a small bit, “You know if you ever break up with Arc, I plan on snatching you up for myself.”
She turned back and looked at me with a sincere smile, “Well let’s hope that doesn’t happen.”
I chuckled, “Which part? The break up or being my girlfriend?”
“Both!” She giggled.
I shook my head and smiled, “Oh well guess I can’t make any advancements on you, pity…”
“I am glad that you are smiling though Lux.” I heard her say. The tub turned off and she used a shadow sneak to turn it back on because both of us were too lazy to get up I assume. “It’s good to see the old you…”
“Oh believe me, it’s not easy to smile. It’s very rough. Honestly, I am very annoyed with a lot of things.”
“You aren’t showing it.” She pointed out.
“Not when I am with you, like I said, I feel at ease with you though I can’t say the same about some of the others around here.” I placed my finger in my ear and cleaned it, “Damn gijinkas around here are getting stranger by the day and they are doing stupid things that annoy the hell out of me. It’s all so trivial that I hate it!”
“Don’t blame them….besides you just need some time to heal…you know…”
“I know…”
“Those marks….from last night…?” She began but I stopped her because my ears were wiggling. Someone was approaching the pool area.
“Let’s talk about it later, come to my room around 9 tonight okay? I will tell you everything, however,” I stopped and looked at her sternly, “What I am going to show you can’t tell anyone.”
“Will you really hold to your word on that?” She was thinking about something. I am not sure what but I had an inkling that it had to do with a certain mutt.
“Shupple?” I used my finger to tell her to lean forward, she did and I whispered into her ear, “I promise…”
“CANNON BALL-NYA!!!!”
It was like slow motion as we watch Nyarth toss all this toys aside and come running into the hot tub, both Shupple and my faces were in horror and I quickly stood up and block Shupple from getting wet as the Meowth cannon balled his way into the water. The splash hit was relatively small but enough for water to hit my back and go onto the floor surface. Still standing I looked to see where Nyarth was because the water wasn’t that deep, actually only hip deep. Nevertheless, the Meowth came out of the water screaming.
“NYA NYA NYA!!! SO HOT SO HOT!!!” He shook himself off on the floor and turned to face both of us, “Why didn’t you say it was ho- AHHHH WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU BACK?!?!?!?!?!”
Twitch twitch. Annoyed level just went back up as a frown appeared on my face. I wanted to choke the little bugger for yelling so much.
“Onii-chan!!! Onii-chan what happened? You have so many scars? It looks like something out of a horror film?” And he would know this how? That’s it!!
“N-nyarth?” Moving my claws ready to attack him. My eyes were closed as I bit my lip to contain myself.
“Nya?” He replied as I approached him with a sinister smile which was rudely interrupted with an elbow to the face and a backflip in the hot tub.
“Oh look Lux can do amazing tricks in the hot tub too Nyarth!” Damn it Shupple for hitting me again. She petting Nyarth’s head, “Lux is sort of sensitive about his back because he was hurt a long time ago.”
“NO YOU THINK!?!?!” I sarcastically replied as I moved the hair from my face and tried to open my eyes. I hated having water in my eyes.
“Oh I see. Sorry Onii-chan!” Nyarth bowed his head. “But your backflip was cool. Can you teach me?”
“……..” I glared. “It’s fine.” I sat back down and Shupple did the same next to me.
“Nyarth what are you doing here by the way?” Shupple questioned.
His eyes lit up as he began to splash the water abit, “Sister came into my room and told me we had an important meeting too with Lupe. So here I am! I feel like an adult.”
I believe both Shupple and I were surprised that of all the people to be at a meeting, he shouldn’t be at it since he was still a kid. But whatever. I snorted as I closed my eyes and relaxed and Shupple began to play with Nyarth as we await for more people to attend the meeting.
“Sup Bitches!”
Quickly opening my angry eyes, I swore to Ho-oh I will kill her someday. Damn rabbit and hear I was hoping she wouldn’t have her voice back.
“I hope she isn’t referring to us.” Shupple declared also a bit annoyed.
It was Lupe and apparently she had her voice back but right next to her was Estelle. So they came together makes sense since they are ‘sisters’ per say but not really. Estelle had this lavender bikini on while Lupe had a bikini that was like army cameo. Go figure the tomboy would have that.
“So the hot tub, not a bad place to have a meeting, so glad I thought of it!” Lupe smirked as she plopped right in not caring who she splashed. I really wanted strangler her with her own ears. But I felt Shupple place her hand on my thigh to keep me from doing so. Without her, we might be having rabbit stew later tonight. “It’s a damn miracle that my voice has returned when it did!”
Estelle gingerly entered the water and walked over to Nyarth.
“Nya! Estelle I like that swimsuit!! Sit here with me! You can sit between Lux and me-nya.”
She lowered her head and sat between us as Lupe sat in front of us four. “Looks like everyone is here. I picked you all because we have all been at this mansion the longest where all the other rejects have either moved on with their lives, been pussies and ran away, or just plain disappeared. So since you are my faithful servants-“
Servants? I half smirked….
“-I call this meeting into order about what we should do here at the mansion to welcome all the new bes.” Lupe announced in that loud and bossy tone of hers. “Estelle what are the ideas we have so far?”
We all turned to Estelle who’s ears perked up, “Right well I had many things that I wanted to share, we could have a cat walk like a fashion show were all the girls could try on all these styles of clothes for the guys to watch and I could design them and-“ She was glowing with excitement, “-and have a buffet of some sort or even have the guys strut their stuff too.”
“Sounds like a plan to me!” Lupe said as she licked her lips. “It’s decided…”
“No it’s not.” I declared, “What’s the point in a meeting if we only have one suggestion? Sounds like you are only voting for that Lupe because you want a to check out a piece of ass.”
She gave all of us that smirk. “Of course, my plans at the festival failed…so I need back up.”
“For what?” Shupple asked lifting an eyebrow.
“TO GET LAID!” She nodded.
I nearly fell over and so did Shupple.
“Did she?” I asked Shupple.
Her mouth was twitching, “Yes she did.”
“Onee-chan?” Nyarth looked at Estelle. “What does it mean to ‘get laid’?”
Estelle’s face turned red as she quickly glanced at Shupple and me for help. We put our arms up like ‘NOT A CHANCE IN HELL GOOD LUCK!’
“Umm well it’s where she lays down and-“ She couldn’t find the words.
“It means to lose my virginity!” Lupe interrupted Estelle.
Again the falling over happened again as both Shupple and I couldn’t believe how blunt Lupe was being. Damn she has turned into a horn rabbit, guess it’s that season for her to multiply.
“Virgin? What’s that?” Nyarth questioned again, curiosity was surely going to kill him one of these days!
“Well…it’s…umm…were someone….umm…” Estelle was struggling for the right words.
“It’s a term used for those beginning their love life. There are cultural and religious traditions which place special value and significance on this state for the purity of those who like this. It’s a premature love between two individuals.” I told Nyarth placing my arm on the hot tub edge.
“So Lupe want’s to lose it?” Nyarth asked again.
“Actually Lupe just wants to be the next level of a virgin but we needn’t talk about this right now.”
“Right there are other ideas we had planned for the new people?” Estelle said with a smile. I blinked and stayed emotionless.
So I sat quietly as everyone discussed ideas about how we could build community involvement. Shupple mentioned a haunted house, Nyarth wanted a giant bouncy play pin, Lupe wanted to go an outdoors hunting trip, and so much more. I just didn’t really feel like I needed to add my input onto this. It really didn’t concern me.
“What about you Lux?” Estelle asked.
I guess I was taken right out of my thought again. That has been happening a lot lately. Oh well. I had remembered the teddy bear from earlier. “What about a Yuletide Ball?”
“A ball? Like the Valentine’s Day Ball we had so long ago?” Lupe ears went from one side to another. “Interesting since we have so many new people, new couples, and all, this might be a great experience for everyone. All in favor raise your hand!”
All of us raised our hands. Not sure why I said something like that, oh right, because I could drink that might be nice.
“Now let’s discuss who will take care of what?” Lupe stood up and splashed us with water. “Estelle and I will be in charge of decorations. Shupple, your shadow sneak, its powerful right?”
“Umm I think so.”
Lupe grinned and pointed dramatically at Shupple, “Then you are on set up control!”
Shupple nodded, for her this would be easy and she could possibly get the dog to help her too.
“Nya what about me?” The kid really did want to help out.
Lupe went into thinking mode and Estelle tapped Lupe’s shoulder and whispered into her ear which followed by a nod. “Estelle says you are good with gifts so you are in charge of buying a gift for everyone, and get that Raine to help you! OH and get posters ready too”
“Easy as pie-nya! And I like pie!” He cheered.
The final moment when Lupe’s eyes met mine, “You might not have a lot of time since you and Miss Hoom will be going together. But you can be in charge of meals got it monkey!?!”
I’m a fucking lion, stupid rabbit. Hold it back hold it back. Don’t explode. DON’T!
“S….sure…I can handle that…I’ve got all the time in the world you….” I growled. Stupid girl probably didn’t even notice that Hoom was gone. Go figure.
“Alright well since it is still aways away, I am counting on you all. We will have another meeting when it gets closer to the date but I expect you to get started ASAP! Meeting dismissed.”
With that said, Lupe grabbed her things and happily bounced away. Nyarth excused himself to take care of some things with Raine and see how she was doing.
Shupple got up and turned to me, “I really like the idea, and I am excited this will be a nice formal event for Arc. But who do you plan on asking Lux?”
“I don’t plan on asking anyone….” I shrugged and yawned. “I’ll just go by myself and dance with everyone else’s dates.” I gave a sly smirk.
“Alright well save a dance for me.”
“YEAH YEAH!” I waved as she left the pool.
It was a bit awkward but here we were alone, Estelle and I. I wasn’t actually sure what to say but I just silently enjoy the hot tub until she was ready to talk.

11 pages!?! :) I am happy about that and YES we are having a ball at the mansion which will be followed by a pretty epic event after that! Yup we have been planning but with a ball in the future, this means everyone can interact with everyone and there can be some fun again. Most of the members who are here now weren’t around when we have a Valentine’s day ball.
