These would be shows that I have actually wished to have the money to invest in owning in their entirety. I like a lot of shows, but few of them I like well enough to want to own the whole thing.
1. Wolf's Rain
This is a beautiful show. It should be watched in the highest possible quality on the best possible screen. Also, despite not really liking the end of the show for being . . . what is . . . it is still a wickedly awesome show, and I love it.
3. Saiyuki, the original DVD releases
I have all of Saiyuki except Reload. The box art on the original DVDs is beautiful, though, and each DVD comes with a poster of some kind.
4. Mobile Suit: Gundam Wing
And no other, particularly not those released after Wing.
5. Ghost in the Shell
Great shows, great movies. Little else needs to be said about this intense, beautiful, and philosophical series.
6. Dragon Ball Z Kai
For one purpose and one purpose alone: Because Duo already has all of Dragonball, and there is no reason for us both to go out and spend that much money both acquiring the whole thing. I have severe issues with Kai, but I still want it, because it is Dragonball, and I will support the industry however I can.
7. Eden of the East, The King of Eden, and Paradise Lost
Because one of these days, if I watch them enough, the greatest mysteries of all will be mystically unveiled. Just who is Johnny, anyway? That and many, many more questions will magically come spilling out of the TV set. Or I will just watch the series over and over, wishing it did not end with 11 episodes, and so many questions, and then release 2 movies that apparently not only don't answer them, they add more onto the list.
8. The Vision of Escaflowne
Not the most spectacular show on Earth, and I want it mostly for nostalgic reasons, and because it is relatively different from what you see nowadays. I am particularly fond of the way it uses Tarot cards and pendulums. Going back and watching it again, I have noticed a great many flaws in this show, particularly in animation errors and pacing. This show has a lot to say, and it says it all in about 26 episodes. It could stand to be double or triple that length, with more emphasis on the people of Gaia and less emphasis on Hitomi's romantic dreams. Not to say they should be downplayed, but that there is more than enough of them without making them any longer than they already are. It could stand to have the last sixty seconds of the series rewritten.
The Mushi would not be happy if I did not include this series.
10. Fullmetal Alchemist
The original series, Brotherhood, the Brotherhood extra episodes, The Conqueror of Shamballa, and The Sacred Star of Milos
11. Vampire Hunter D
The original movie.
