songs of innocence

Hey guys! Hope everyone's been doing okay. I've had an alright week so far, but I can't believe it's only Wednesday This week is going so slow! We're reading Seamus Heaney's translation of Beowulf in English class, and it's pretty kick-ass. I just read the part where Beowulf fights Grendel's mother. So cool!
I've been listening to U2's newest album a lot lately. You know, the one that just kinda showed up in everyone's iTunes. Actually my version of iTunes is so outdated I had to go onto the store and download it manually. So I thought it was pretty cool that I got it for free, but I get why everyone was pissed about them doing that. But look, here's the thing. It's obnoxious that they did that, but they're rock stars. They're supposed to be obnoxious. I think it says a lot about our society that celebrities can do drugs and abuse their spouses and do whatever, but U2 messes with our iPhones and suddenly they're evil. Alright, rant over.
I honestly didn't like Songs of Innocence much when I first heard it, but I saw U2 in Boston this summer and they played a lot of stuff from the new album, and it kinda blew me away. So I thought I should give it another shot, and I ended up being crazy about it I mean, it's not as good as War or Achtung Baby or Joshua Tree, but it's still pretty damn good. Go listen to it, everyone.

touch typing

I've been using my free period at school to teach myself touch typing. I play guitar, so I figured touch type wouldn't be so hard. I mean, it's all muscle memory, right? If I can play a G chord, I can touch type. How hard can it be?
Turns out, it's really hard. My forearm is so sore I'm not quitting though. I'm through with having to stop and find every letter, I'm teaching myself how to do this if it's the last thing I do! (great, now I'm turning into a shonen hero )

Nacissistic Whining

I've heard a lot of people talking about how TheO has slowed down recently. I've definitely noticed that, because...prepare for me to sound really self-centered...there hasn't been a whole lot of activity on the stuff I've been posting. It figures I wouldn't notice that the website was quieter than it used to be until I realized I wasn't being paid attention to I guess I'm kind of a narcissist. Also I'm pretty new to this website, so that prolly has something to do to it. It's a bit frustrating, though. I mean, I rejoined TheO because I missed talking to other people about anime and art and life, but I was kinda hoping to be able to show my work to other people and hopefully get feedback so I could improve and grow as an artist, but I feel like no one's really looking at the stuff I'm putting out. Alright, done whining.

Today be friday, yay!

Hey-o, how's everybody doing this lovely Friday? I'm so happy the week is almost over, it's been a long one. I usually get a ride to school from my dad, but my parents are out of town so I had to get up early and take the bus :p. Bell just rang, I should prolly get off my but and go.
Catch you later
