Present, Even If Unaccounted For

Jack -

I can't remember if there was a smirk on my face, or just another lifeless glare.

I couldn't really feel it, anyway. There was always gonna be something too-cold in my eyes that killed whatever emotion was attempting it's appearance. Ah...that's no way to look at life, Jack, m'boy. Pity parties are for people who could afford it.

I looked again over at the meeting place. One, two, three, four people were there already. Wow...I was really going to go the karaoke. With people. Who weren't trying to kill me. Huh.

It would take some getting used to.

I had been there for about twenty minutes. I didn't know why. I guess...I wanted to avoid the awkward conversation when you and another person were the only ones there and had to get to know each other.

I sighed a little bit. Might as well join in. In a way, I had known these people for a while, anyway,m right?...I jammed my hands in my pockets, readjusting the headphones around my neck and brushed my hair out of my eyes.

I walked up, and did a quick assessment of everyone before I got so close that they noticed me. Two girls, two boys. One girl was tan and had long, orange hair that gleamed in the light...Liu. It had to be.

The other one had a shock of purple hair, lifted into a pony-tail. Was it Destiny? Yeah...Torri didn't look like that, I think.

One of the boys had shaggy, hair that was even darker than mine. He was older than just a kid, older than I was, anyway, and didn't have any noticeable piercings. He was Zero, because the boy beside him was obviously Shun: spikey hair, piercings, and all.

I stopped in front of them, and they all looked over giving me a chance to look at them again--to make sure they were the people I'd associated them with. They all had the key-chains, so I guessed I wasn't wrong.
Destiny smiled at me, furrowing her eyebrows a little. "Um...are you part of the game?"

I flipped my hair out of my eyes again and nodded, standing up a little straighter as they all looked at me. I guess I didn't look much like I said I did, or something.

"I thought there were only three guys playing. Gabriel is supposed to be younger than you, isn't he?" Shun looked me up and down once.

I shrugged, hesitantly removing my hands from my pockets to pull out my cellphone and allow them to see the scratched rabbit key-chain. I opened it and displayed it once more--the name on the phone reading simply, "Jack".
"Oh! You're Jack, then?" Destiny smiled widely. "Nice to see you."

I nodded swiftly, quietly looking at the streets. I probably should say something...I dunno...anything.

I felt an arm around my shoulder, and Liu had the grin of a Cheshire Cat on her face--the gleam in her eyes to match. "You look so down, Jack! Buck up, even Zero has said something!" She drawled out her words mischievously; what a card this girl would be.

I smiled a tight smile, feeling a little awkward as I looked around. Guess this would take getting used to.

Ahah...hope that's okay xDD
I dunno what they were expecting, but she looks exactly like a guy and gets touch when people call her a girl--so if anyone wants to be a bit of a rival to her, feel free to pick on her XD
Anyway, I hope it worked... >_>
