My ticket for the failboat

Fails.

We all do them. If it weren't for fails we wouldn't have the joys of laughing in hysteria at our friends, peers, and even total strangers. Fails are what makes life worth living, and what makes us human.

A friend's fail can be one of the best things ever, especially if they're the kind of person who never does, but when we fail ourselves it can be a little embarrassing. If one is able to laugh at one's own fails, one is truly a good person.

Today I am going to share with you one of my great fails.

Art classes require many things. Paper, pencils, talent can help too, but this lesson required other things. Paint brushes, paint palettes, and of course, paint.

Some people like to use blue paint; others like to use orange paint. My friends and I were using fluoro pink paint. I don't know what we were thinking when we chose that colour, but it must have gone along the lines of something like "nothing could ever go wrong!"

Sharing one palette of paint between a large group of people causes it to run out quickly, so someone must fill it up again. My friends being the mean, evil scum that they are forced me to go to the length of getting out of my chair and walking all the way to the other end of the classroom just to do it.

I picked up the palette, and with a groan of disappointment, made my way to the paint cupboard. Once there I fished around for the bright, neon, fluoro pink paint. Upon finding it, I attempted to squirt some into the palette. The only problem was that the paint was very runny for some unknown reason, and it flooded the entire palette!

Feeling a little annoyed with the stupid paint, I made my way back to our table. Unbeknownst to me, I had been holding the paint palette at an angle the whole way, and gravity will do as gravity does.

I had left a bright pink trail of paint from one end of the classroom to the other, but it didn't stop there. It was all over my sketch books, the table, and even my pants.

Majority of the class found it hilarious, but I didn't think it was so funny when I had to spend my beloved lunch time cleaning up the mess I'd made.

The moral of the story is to concentrate on what you're doing. You don't want to make a fool of yourself in front of your beloved friends and family, or even worse, that really cute guy who was about to ask you out until you spilt your water all over the crotch of your pants. Next time spill it on your friend's crotch. It'll be much funnier.
