Sad story...supposed to be in Kokoro no Kizu. But I decided to write it in here-^^-hope you like it!!
Freak
I took a deep breath
Freak
When would this nightmare stop?
Freak
"Ah!"
I opened my eyes to my dark bedroom. The light of a full moon gleamed outside the window. My face was wet with tears. My heart was stinging badly at the terrible memories that haunted my nightmare.
My Mother had called me a freak.
I wiped my tears and avoided thinking about it. Cheerful. Hyper. Optimistic. That was my usual attitude. The optimistic, cheerful, hyper rabbit. But there was also a dark side. The dark side that had lacked of any kind of motherly affection.
I walked down and into the kitchen to drink some water. Then I'd return to my bed. I gulped down a cup of water, my heart still aching badly, how much I wished that pain to stop, to disappear, to vanish...
To die, if necessary.
I was returning to my bed and I almost bumped into Tohru on the stairs, she was making her way to the kitchen. I wondered if she was suffering from insomnia.
"What are you doing awake, Momiji-kun?"
"Couldn't sleep."
"You look sad." I shrugged.
"More or less."
"Do you want to talk about it?" I nodded. I didn't, but perhaps I'd feel better.
Tohru led me to her bedroom.
"What is it?"she asked, in her usual kind, sweet tone.
"I was thinking of my mom" She gave me a compassionate look. I was sure, completely, that she understood what I was feeling.
"You miss her?"
"I don't know...I'm kinda resentful, but I miss her, anyway. Tohru-kun...you lost your Mother...Don't you miss her, too?" My question seemed to be unexpected, but she smiled.
"Yes. Often."
"How do you...?"
"I know that she loved me. That she's with me, in spirit. Momiji-kun... I think deep down your Mother loved you." I wanted to embrace her so badly, her words calmed me, cheered me a bit.
"Domo Arigato"
As I fell asleep, back in my bedroom, I sent my mother a hug from afar. And as I drifted in my dreams, I said, mentally:
"I love you, Mom."
