Downer of a Saturday

Ladies and gentlemen, Meat Loaf.

Usually Saturday is my favorite day of the week. It's a day where I can just kick back and forget about stuff for at least a little while. Plus Saturday Night is the night of the Toonami lineup. But this Saturday has been pretty bad. For one thing I woke up this morning with the worst migraine I've had in a very long time. It was so bad that I actually threw up. Of course I started to feel better, though I'm more or less worn out. And I'm not the only one in my house who's been sick.

My cat is not feeling very well either. This evening he was having trouble moving his left rear leg, and he didn't even touch his dinner. My dad checked on him and noticed that he's also lost some weight. The thing is my cat was sick for a couple of days last week too. And he's a pretty old kitty too. I've had him for about sixteen years, give or take. My family and I got him from an animal shelter when he was about a year old. So considering my cat's age, I'm sadly not very optimistic about his condition.

As morbid is, this little event, for lack of a better word has been sort of been at the back of my mind for the last couple of years. In my experience, cats don't really seem to visibly age, but I've kind of wondered about just how much longer my cat will be around. I've actually wondered a little about how it would finally happen. Would he have to be taken to the vet, or would my dad and I just find him… well, I think everyone reading knows where I'm going with this sentence. Right now it's just kind of a wait and see situation. My cat might get better and I truly hope he does, but I'm still finding it hard to be optimistic. I guess in some ways I'm just kind of a realist.

Well, I hope everyone is having a better Saturday than I am. As I right this, the Toonami lineup has just started up. Though I'm not a huge fan of Attack on Titan. Then again, what else is there to watch on a Saturday Night at 10:00 PM (central time)? Anyway, until next time.

EDIT: Things are not looking good for my dear cat. He's started hacking up stuff, and a few minutes ago he crawled into a box to hide. My dad told me that if he's not doing any better in the morning, we're going to have to have a vet come over. It's not looking good at all. For those who care, I'll of course let everyone know how things turn out tomorrow morning. In the meantime, Space Dandy will be coming on in a few minutes. Hopefully that'll cheer me up a bit. Until next time.
