Welcome, everyone! I'm glad you stopped by. Please, feel free to flip through the pages.

Nothing Much

Work is becoming easier. The first day was pretty rough, since I had no idea what I was doing. Thankfully I had a really nice supervisor for my first couple of days and he made sure I was on track (without being patronizing, which seems to be the MO of some of the other supervisors). Days that I do work have been boiled down to commute, work, and sleep. There's not much space for a life in between but oh well.

I did manage to have a cosplay photo shoot a few weeks ago. Got some decent pictures. I would have liked to try out a few things but there was no time.

I just finished reading A Wind Named Amnesia and Invader Summer by Hideyuki Kikuchi. He wrote Vampire Hunter D, too. Wind Named Amnesia in book form is fairly different from the anime but I think it made more sense, even though I find Kikuchi's writing to be hard to follow sometimes. Invader Summer is much different but the premise is pretty interesting, once you get down to the meat of it. If you want to have a go at some pretty heavy sci-fi, you might want to check it out.

I guess that's all from me. Until next time.

Employment

I got a job, as a video game tester.

There are perks and pitfalls to the job. On one hand, it's cool, I guess (I'd be playing on a platform I'm not familiar with). And it's also, you know, a paying job. But on the other hand, the commute is hell and it's only an on-call position, so I'm not guaranteed work.

It all happened so fast, I'm still sort of reeling from it. I applied, got called back the same day, and then the next day I was in orientation and was officially hired. @.@

So, yeah.

EDIT: I figured out a commute schedule and in order for me to make it on time to work, I'd have to get up at 3am. TT-TT

Hospital Drama

Now that things have settled down, I can fill you in on the hospital drama, if you care to know.

My dad became really dizzy one night, so much that he couldn't stand, and kept vomiting. After consulting a nurse, my mom drove him to the hospital. This was around midnight. He was there for a couple of days and they did all sorts of tests but there was nothing to them. Seems it was an extreme case of vertigo, or something like that. But also Dad is getting on in years and he pushes himself too hard.

But things are fine now, so that's good.

Well, This is Familiar...

I feel like I've gone back in time a little bit, or I'm living my life in circles. Like the beginning of summer, here I am at the end of it doing the exact same thing: home alone looking for jobs all day, with my grandma's dog at my feet. Circumstances are a little different, I suppose, but the feeling is the same.

I can't say much has happened in the last month or so since I was last here posting. Working on layouts for my comic are going well and I'm just about done with them. So far I have 84 thumbnails and about four pages of script to go. I'm very impressed with myself, for getting so far. No luck in employment, as I'm sure you can tell. Went to the library finally and got new books. Been watching a lot of Castle again, buying seasons on DVD and whatnot. Hoping to have a cosplay photo shoot next week, but we'll see. Other than that, a little hospital drama, but I'll spare you that (I'll also don't know what's really going on either, until test results come back).

So I guess I'll end here. Until next time.

You Probably Don't Know This

To save myself from insanity via boredom, I come up with ridiculous things to do to keep me busy. My recent ridiculous decision is that I'm going to make a comic. Reasons for this being crazy:

1) I don't draw anymore. It's been a good few years since I've bothered to do anything beyond a tiny sketch

2) There's no consistency in my work at all

3) I don't know anything about comics

Thankfully, someone agreed to look over my layouts. I'm sure it will be a good learning experience, in terms of artistic ability (and my patience).

Speaking of manga, I decided that it makes for good bed-time reading. It takes about an hour to read through one, so it's easy not to get too sucked into it like with a novel. I finished all the novels that I have, so I've moved on to reading old manga series. Rurouni Kenshin is my current series. Ah, classic. I also just like Watsuki's style.
