Back from the Ends of the Earth!

Hello, all! It's been so long! I am back from Antarctica!!! Feels weird to be typing here right now. After a month of having no to little internet and being disconnected from home...I can't tell you how strange it is. Unless, of course,...

Welcome, 2012

Holy crap. It didn't hit me that I have to write "2012" when I write the date until now. Holy crap.

Anyway. Happy holidays and new year, all. I hope you enjoyed yourselves. As for me, I did, yes. Quiet holidays, as per usual but that's fine.

Spent a good portion of the day yesterday mulling over the year. Realized it was not a good year for me, 2011. Started with death and ended with disappointment. There were highlights though. A good con scene and cosplay jumped in leaps and bounds recently. I read 30 books over the summer, shattering all my records. (Let's see if I can top that next summer.) Had a good internship with the city and got to be a production designer for A Midsummer Night's Dream (although that didn't feel particularly like a highlight while I was working on that project).

I can only hope that 2012 will be a better year. I'm certainly starting off with a bang. I fly out for Antarctica in four days. There will probably be no posts until then, but I will make one when I get back, with pictures, assuming I can figure that all out. Look forward to that.

Well, until then. Have a good January, y'all.

A Little Catch Up

The end of Midsummer went really well. We ended up selling out the last three nights. We're all sad to see it go so soon though.

Finals came and went, with a lot of sleep deprivation and frustration. But that's over so we won't talk about it.

Break is glorious, as always, but there are still things to keep my brain busy. Like planning for my trip for Antarctica! A little over two weeks and I will be at the bottom of the earth. Hard to believe.

Was walking around in [insert icon city name here] yesterday and apparently there is a Santa Con. So many people in Santa suits. I swear there is a con for everything....

Sweet Relief

The play is now officially open! Actually it opened Wednesday night. And yes, I was working backstage even after the show started (my worst fear realized). We almost sold out opening night and I've heard that we may sell out tonight. That is super exciting for us all. I went and watched it last night. It was a little weird to see my work up there on stage. But it was also great to see where we've come since this whole process started. God, you guys, Midusmmer is hilarious. I mean, I always knew it was funny but watching it performed is so side-splitting. Literally, I was hoarse from laughing so much last night. Definitely buying our DVD when it comes out....

Now I can devote my life back to school. We're down to finals week, which is really hard to believe. What happened to this semester?! Well, whatever, let's get this thing done!

Until next time. If you were all here, I'd drag you to come see this play. :)

EDIT: We have now sold out three night in a row!!! I will try to post some pictures here, if I can ever figure that function out....

Check In

If this play doesn't kill me, it will be a miracle. We're down to the last three days!

I heard something on the radio that people are way more whiney online than they are in real life. I think that's true. I probably complain way more online than I do out loud.

It's a strange thing, the internet.
