The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
I just finished reading The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath and it was a very unexpected novel for me. Set iin the 1950s it revolves around a 19 year old girl called Esther Greenwood who goes through a period of mental instability and the journey in which she regains herself, the bell jar refering to the device which was used to give electrocution to mental patients...It was quite a short novel and very imaginative too...For those who are into serious reading I recommend this.
