I read A Million Little Pieces by James Frey almost a week ago and it was a really weird but enlightening experience for me. This is not actually a novel, it's a memoir in which James Frey has told the story of his drug addiction and his recovery from it. It's a very strongly written memoir and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone younger than 18 years.
It also has a sequel called My Friend Leonard.
