Chapter three

I may have forgotten to say this, but this story has language and sexuality in it. Thanks for reading!

“Riku, come on!” Sora whined from where he sat on the bed, stripped down to his undies. “I should at least get to pick what I wear!”
Riku snorted at that idea, sorting through the hamper of clothes that had been brought for the “princess”. He had already thrown an assortment of brightly colored dresses at Sora’s feet, and was sifting through yet another pile of clothing. He lifted a red-orange long sleeved dress with a knee-length skirt and held it up in front of Sora, squinting his right eye and inclining his head slightly. “Nah.” He said, throwing it into the reject pile.
“Riku-”
He threw a wadded up pair of pajamas at his face, laying him flat.
“Make yourself useful and put that on, I need to see which colors are most convincing.” He commanded, sifting through the pile again. “It shouldn’t be that hard, though – your body’s completely hair…less.”
Sora stood before him, dressed in pink pajamas with a star and moon pattern complete with footies. The sleeves fell to his knuckles, and he held his arms to his chest in a feminine manner, but it was all him, all Sora. A slight knit of a blush touched his cheeks, making the blue depths of his eyes stand out all the more.
“W-what?” He demanded, turning red. “Does it look bad? I look stupid, don’t I?”
“No, I…I just thought…” Riku shook his head, looking back down at the clothes pile. “Never mind, it’s nothing.”
“Huh?” Sora crouched beside him, inclining his head “What is it?”
“I told you it’s nothing!” Through silver locks Sora saw hints of the reddened face that stared purposefully at the floor. “Go to sleep.”
Sora blinked, then laughed “You think I look cute in this, don’t you?”
“Go to sleep!”
“That’s the whole point though, isn’t it? To bring out my feminine side-”
“GO TO BED!” Riku snarled, slamming his open palm against the floor.
“Okay, okay, I’m going.” Sora giggled, crawling under the covers of the twin bed. “Hold on,” He poked his head out of the mass of covers. “Where are you going to sleep, Riku?”
“Sleep? Are you kidding me? Keeping you out of trouble is a full-time job!” At Sora’s pout, he sighed, running his fingers through his hair. “I’ll make a pallet on the floor later, don’t’ worry about me.”
“But why can’t we sleep in the same bed? We did when we were little…”
“Little being the key word. Things are different now, and besides, if they came in and saw us in bed together, they’ll think you’re a slut, and I don’t need another thing to explain away.”
All at once Sora yawned, smacking his lips slowly and blinking sleepily. A soft smile touched Riku’s lips “Go to sleep man, I’ll look after you.” Sora looked like he wanted to protest but he fell asleep almost instantly.
Riku waited until he was sure Sora was asleep before rising, coming to stand before him. …Things really are different now. Slowly, he brushed a gloved thumb across Sora’s soft parted lips, pure desire in his eyes. Sora stiffened in his sleep and Riku pulled back slightly, moving the caressing hand to stroke the boy’s spiked locks.

“…Why do you always do this?” He breathed, looking upon Sora’s sleeping face “Why do you always ask the same questions?” He bent down, recalling Sora’s concern for him. He buried his face in the boy’s hair “Why do you affect me this way?” He demanded, gripping the bed sheets in one hand.
“Why?”

“All right!” Sora exclaimed “This is what I’m talking about!” He grabbed a bowl from the platter Riku had brought and dug into the rice pudding with a passion. “Hm? Wat’s wong Wiku?” He asked, mouth full “Ou not ungwy?”
Riku blinked, then smirked, ruffling his friend’s hair. “Don’t talk with food in your mouth, idiot, it’s rude!”
Sora swallowed hard, getting the food down all in one gulp “You okay, Riku? You’re not eating…”
He shrugged, leaning against the wall from where he sat on the floor. “I grabbed something in the kitchen earlier, don’t worry about me.” Which was a lie; he hoped his stomach didn’t tell on him.
“Well, okay…” Sora said uncertainly “If you say so…”
Riku forced a smile “I’m going out for a bit – I need to see if I can find you more clothes.”
Sora gave a negative groan from around the spoon but didn’t try to stop him as he left the room.
“…Damn it! What am I thinking?!” Riku demanded, slamming his fist into the wall. His actions the night before had surprised him. Why had Sora looked so cute in all of those outfits? The scent of his hair…cinnamon and his lips were so soft… “Is there something…wrong with me?”
“Nah man, you’re just in love.” He jumped. Axel stood beside him, a small smile on his face.
Riku narrowed his eyes “What are you doing here?”
He shrugged “Thought I smelled a rat, looks like I’ve found it.” He laughed at Riku’s growl “You could treat me a bit nicer, you know. I can blab on the two of you any second and kiss your asses goodbye.”
Riku’s body was rigid with anger, yet his voice was completely normal “…and you wouldn’t regret it, would you?”
Again, he shrugged “Not really. We’re not exactly close.”
“Then what’s stopping you?”
Axel laughed “Honor my friend, honor. I owe Sora, I told you that already. ‘sides,” He grinned I like seeing you pissed off, it really makes my day.”
Riku snorted.
“Yeah, and Sora’s so damn cute, I’d feel kind of bad for feeding him to the wolves.”
He raised an eyebrow “You swing that way?”
“Got a problem with it?” Axel countered coolly.
Riku shrugged “Do whatever you want, but…Sora’s off limits, don’t touch him.”
Suddenly Axel was in front of him, touching his cheek “Can I touch you, then?”
Riku snatched away from him, glaring “Just stay away from him!”
“You never said no to you.”

Riku opened his mouth to speak but stopped short, closing it.
“Do you swing that way, Riku?” Axel asked, seeming amused.
“…I…” He sighed “I don’t know, maybe. I like it both ways.”
Axel shrugged “Women are too trivial for me; men are easier to understand, Though not as easy to do, I must say.”
Riku blinked “Why are you telling me this?”
He grinned “I wonder…” He took off down the hall, leaving a very confused Riku in his wake.

Chapter two

Chapter two

Sora tossed and turned, tumbling through a variety of dreams at break-neck speed: He was at home, Kairi and Riku were there. They were making a raft, they were going to see what was out there… He was being engulfed by darkness, Riku had his hand outstretched, beckoning him to join him. All he could see was waves of inky blackness… He was at the door to light, trying desperately to close it. Suddenly, Riku was there, helping lock him and King Mickey inside with all of those Heartless…that was by far the hardest thing he had ever had to do…
“…Sora? …Sora!” He gasped, opening his eyes. Riku’s face hung inches above his own, stitched with worry.
“R-Riku…?” Relief washes over the older boy’s face. “Riku…what happened? Where are we?” He asked, looking around. In the room everything was white, the walls, the carpet, the linens, the furniture…everything was white.
“We’re in my old room a Organization XIII’s headquarters. As for what happened…” He sighed. “We were ambushed, and then-“
“Kairi!” Sora sat up, gasping. “Kairi…! Riku, is she all right? What about the others-”
“They’re all fine. Apparently they were only there for you.”
“For…me? Why?”
“Well, I should say they were there for Kairi, but…”
Sora cocked his head “Riku, what are you talking about?”
Riku sighed, giving him full eye contact. “They think you’re a princess.”
Sora froze, staring at him in disbelief “A…princess?”
Riku nodded.
He laughed. “Oh Riku, you’re hilarious!” He doubled over in a giggling fit. “Me, a princess? Ha ha ha! I can see it now – balls, beautiful gowns… think I’d look good in a dress?” He cackled “And prince charming always shows up to save me-”
“I’m serious!” Riku snarled. All at once Sora stopped laughing. “They think you’re an honest-to-God mother fucking princess! A Princess of Hearts, Sora! They think you’re Kairi!”
He blinked “They…think I’m…Kairi?”
“Yes! Do you have any idea how deep in this we are?!” He grabbed Sora by his shirt collar “Think about it! We’re in the middle of the Organization’s base! They’re fucking base! This is the worst thing that could possibly happen…” He sank onto the bed, letting Sora go “We can’t get out, Sora. If they find out who we really are, we’re dead!”
“…” Sora grinned “They think I’m a princess, right?” Riku nodded, head in his hands. “Then we’ll just let them think that.”
Riku brought his head up “Are you crazy?!”
“Think about it – as long as they think I’m valuable, they can’t hurt us, ‘cause I’ll protect you, too. I’m a good actor, I can be a princess for a while.”
“Then what happens when they use the princess’ hearts to open Kingdom Hearts? What then?”
He shrugged “We’ll worry about that when the time comes. One thing at a time, okay Riku?”
Riku shook his head “This is crazy…”

Sora grinned “So crazy, it just might work!”
He hesitated, then laughed, ruffling Sora’s hair. “Stop making stupid faces, idiot! This is serious!”
Sora’s grin widened “You laughed though, so now everything’ll be okay!”
Slowly, Riku smiled.
“I agree with Sora, lighten up man.”
They both looked up. The Nobody known as Axel stood leaning casually against a wall, his arms crossed. His eyes were closed; he had a prideful grin on his face.
Suddenly Rebirth was in Riku’s hand and he dropped to a defensive crouch. “Wait Riku, I know him!” Sora cried, jumping up and into Riku’s path. Riku stiffened as if he didn’t know what to do.
Sora grinned walking up to Axel. “Hey Axel! What’re you doing here?”
“I live here, remember?”
“Could’ve fooled me, the way you followed me around like a lost little puppy!”
Riku watched their play argument in silent confusion. “Oh! Riku, this is Axel. Axel, Riku.”
“Hm…” He pushed off of the wall and began circling Riku. Riku never took his eyes off of him once. “So this is him, huh. Riku – the fabled child of darkness. I can see how you were able to sneak in here, with a rep. like yours…”
Riku cocked an eyebrow. “Wasn’t hard; dimwit Demyx let me in.”
He laughed “Why am I not surprised? If Demyx sees anyone in this garb, he trusts them automatically.”
“Sucks for him; things like that’ll get him killed one day.”
Axel smiled smugly “Too true.”
“Yet you wouldn’t grieve for him, would you?”
He shrugged “It’s his choice when he wants to die, not mine.”
“That kind of reminds me of something Jack said in Halloween town once.”
They both looked up as Sora spoke. “I mean,” He continued, if a little feebishly “Jack became obsessed with Christmas because all he knew was Halloween. Axel, Nobodies don’t have hearts, right?” Axel sighed as if the entire thing bored him, but he nodded all the same. “So…maybe Demyx is like that because he doesn’t know what it’s like to have a heart, to be…human.”
A silence lapsed, then Riku shrugged “Whatever the reason, he’s still an idiot.”
“I agree.”
Sora sighed, giving up. “What about this? How am I supposed to be a princess?”
Axel laughed. “It’s not hard – all you’ve gotta do is walk around in a dress and be emotional about everything…hm,” He smirked “maybe Riku should be the princess…”
Riku gave him a sideways glance “You say something?”
“Not a thing. Anyway, Sora – wear a dress, be emotional about everything. Got it memorized?”
“Yeah.” He nodded.
“What about things that are…noticeable on guys?” Riku demanded.
“On some guys, my friend.” The Nobody pointed out. “Anyway, just don’t let anyone touch you below the belt and… well, your voice isn’t that deep, so that shouldn’t be a problem. That’s it – a fake princess’ survival guide for residing in enemy territory.”

Riku narrowed his eyes “Why are you helping us?” He asked, as non-trusting as ever.
All at once Axel’s face became soft “…I owe Sora a great debt. If it weren’t for him… He let me see someone very dear to me one last time, and for that I’ll do anything for him.”
Sora’s face softened “Axel…”
“Enough of this mushy stuff.” He said, waving his arm. I’m late for duty, so I’ll give you one final tip – if you ever think someone’s suspicious of you, I don’t care if it’s Xemnas himself, let me know, and I’ll take care of it. Got it memorized?” Sora nodded. Axel gave a curt nod back, then disappeared in a haze of darkness.

Twilight Princess Chapter 1

I love it when it rains. Sora thought, tilting his head back towards the downpour from the sky. He had been to so many worlds, seen so many rainstorms in so many different places, yet it was only here, on his island, where the rain truly comforted him. He truly loved when it speckled the sand around him, the way it sounded when it hit the waves, it was so…soothing.
“Sora!” He snapped out of his daze, reaching automatically for the keyblade. “Cool it man, it’s just me.” Riku materialized from the constant sheets of rain, his face peeking from under the drawn hood of his black trench coat. His silver hair pooled from the hood and onto his chest, the same color as the rain.
Sora sighed, setting his weapon back down. He looked back out at the black expanse of the sea. He smiled, chuckling to himself. “You know, Organization XIII’s wears look good on you.”
Riku smirked, sitting beside him. “Once you get used to it, it’s not half bad.”
He sighed again, tilting his head back to catch the breeze. “…I almost forgot how good it felt – the salty water, the sand between my toes, even Kairi yelling at me!” He laughed, a stupid grin spreading across his face. “Ah!” He stretched, laying back “I’m just fine with spending the rest of my life here, no more adventures for me!” Sora rolled over to face his friend “What about you? What do you think?”
Riku’s smirk widened “I think that you think too much.”
“Hey, what’s that supposed to mean?” Sora retorted, clearly confused.
He let back his dark hood, shaking his long hair free of the fabric “…Sora? Why are people afraid of the dark?”
Sora rolled onto his opposite side, fully soaked now “Beats me.”
“I mean think about it – what is darkness, except the absence of light? What about that scares people so much that they want to destroy it?”
“…You have another fight with Kairi?”
He sighed “It’s not just her, it’s…everyone, my friends, my family, everyone! No one seems to understand that light and darkness thrive off of one another; THEY’RE EXACTLY THE SAME!”
“…” Sora smiled “I think that you and I are the only people who know that, Riku.”
Riku sighed, shaking his head “The island, it’s…different somehow. Or maybe not, maybe I’m the one who’s changed…”
Sora’s smile widened “Nope, you haven’t changed that much. We haven’t been home in a while, so I’m sure you’re just imagining it-“
Riku held out his arm suddenly and al conversation stopped. Now that he was listening, Sora could hear sounds of movement over the rain, a lot of movement.
Silently, Riku pulled Rebirth from under his cloak. He stood moving in front of Sora.
“How many?” Sora asked in a hushed voice, gripping the keyblade.
“Sixteen dusks, three berserkers, two assassins – they’re in the water; five dancers, seven more dusks, three samurai, and two people, they’re surrounding us on land.”
“Great…” He grinned “nothing we can’t handle!”

“No…wait…” Riku’s brows furrowed. “There’s more. Heartless are coming… twenty shadows, four crimson jazz, fifteen hook bat, three minute bombs…even more are coming!” He looked to his friend “There’s no way we can take that many!”
“Hi. How are ya?” Riku looked up to find himself face – to – face with Demyx, Organization XIII’s number IX. He jumped back, raising Rebirth to chin-level. “Whoa!” Demyx held out his hands, his water guitar nestled in the crook of his arm. “Cool it, bro! We’re on your side! You new or something?”
“What…?” Riku furrowed his brows, confused “What are you talking ab-“
He was cut off by Sora’s scream. Riku spun around only to see Sora engulfed into a glass pod, the same pod that had sent him into the coma-like sleep before, the sleep that Riku had paid for in darkness so that he would wake, the sleep from which he had met Roxas…
“Riku!” Sora cried, his pounding on the glass growing ever weaker. “Rik…u…”
“No!” He lunged forward, only to be blocked by Demyx.
“Chill out, man. Does it really matter who brings her in as long as we get her back?”
“…What?” Riku questioned. Slowly, Sora’s eyes closed and the keyblade disappeared from his hand.
“Sorry, but we are the original team Xemnas sent out to get the princess; but maybe you wanted a cut too…?” He frowned “What do you think, Xigbar?”
“Aw, if he wants some action, let the newbie tag along. He seems strong enough.” Replied the gray-haired man with a patch over his eye. “Besides, it’s not everyday that you get credit for capturing a Princess of Hearts!”
“Princess of…Hearts?”
“Yep.” Demyx said “Meets all the requirements – likes to hang out at the beach, keyblade, tall, tomboyish…I was surprised we found her so fast! Seeing as we’ve never seen her before…so this is Kairi.” He grinned, touching the glass outlining Sora’s face “She’s cute!”
Riku was dumbstruck. Is he an idiot?
“I’m Demyx, and the big palooka behind me is Xigbar.” Eye patch man nodded, grinning. “What’d you say your name was?”
“…Riku.”
“Riku…Riku…where’ve I heard that name?” He frowned slightly, thinking, leaning on his guitar. “Maybe you’re not new…I’m having major De Ja Vu over here.”
Yep, he’s an idiot. “I’m the princess’…guardian.” He said relying on something he had heard while still in the Organization. “Xemnas sent me because I would have to get used to…Kairi’s habits, since I would be in charge of her. She trusts me. Are you sure you weren’t told?”
“Well, now that you mention it, I think Saïx said something about it…” He grinned. “My mistake.”
A complete and total idiot.
“We should take her back now, Xigbar said, opening a portal of darkness and stepping through, using that same power to pull Sora into the vortex after him.
Demyx stepped partially in, turning when he realized Riku hadn’t moved. “You coming, Riku?”

Riku looked back one last time at the island, hid home that he had fought so long to get back to “…Yeah.” He turned and slowly followed Demyx throught the portal, the sound of rain hitting the waves still ringing in his ears
