Power-Machine-Thingy

✿ Eternity ✿

After happily chatting with another group of Astrum Angels, I turned around to find both Juliet and Floria gone. When had that happened?! Evelyn's dark green eyes widened in shock as she turned around to look for the two. But they were no where to be found.

"You weren't watching them?" Valor asked, scanning the crowd for the two humans.

"Was I supposed to?" I replied quizzically. No one had ever told me to keep an eye on them, how would I have known!

Evelyn sighed and instructed me, "Send some other angels to search for them, I will look for them by sky." She immediately took off and soared above the Cloud 9 skyscrapers.

"You," I pointed at Valor, "Stay! Good boy!"

I broke out running to find an angel I knew, and immediately spotted a guy that I had seen around the palace often. He was one of the higher up angels, and I knew that he could probably find them!

"Hey! Waaait!" I called towards him, and he directed his blue-eyed gaze towards me. Ooh, if only I had remembered his name...

"E...ternity?" he inquired tentatively, squinting to make sure it was really me. "What's u--"

"I need you to find two human girls for me!" I quickly rushed to tell him the details of their appearances, and then sprinted off to where I had left Valor. Except he wasn't there.

"Did I not tell him to stay?!" I whined to myself, hurriedly unfurling my wings in order to find Evelyn. Or Valor. Or Juliet. Or Floria. Gah!

My eyes darted back and forth between the buildings below me and the sky ahead of me. Evelyn had been flying when I had last seen her... So she should be up here somewhere! And if I was getting those love feelings from Valor towards her, he should be up here too...

"Evie! Valie! Where are youuu?!" No reply. I cried out in frustration, but spotted far below me the angel I had instructed to find Floria. Flattening my wings in preparation to dive, I swiftly descended towards the ground and landed gracefully on my feet.

Swinging open the rusty doorway that Floria, I assumed, had been led into, I peered into the murky darkness of the building. A faint glow caught my eye, and I made out the figure of Juliet, who had an iridescent shimmer about her, and Floria, who was on the ground sobbing.

"Floria! What's wrong?!" I ran over to her and wrapped my arms around her in a comforting manner.

She sniffled quietly and wiped her face with her sleeve, standing up abruptly. Her face was set determinedly and she began walking around the giant machine that took up most of the building. I turned towards Juliet, finally realizing why she was faintly glowing.

"You? Machine?" I pointed to each one as I said the word. I knew exactly what the machine did, and I had planned to take both here when they were ready... But this was just too soon!

A piercing scream sounded from the opposite side of the room, and I dashed around the large device to see Floria stepping down from a raised chair folded inside of the machine. There was now a pink tinge to the area around her.

"How are you feeling?" I questioned, placing a concerned hand on her shoulder. She seemed different in a way, but still the same happy and cheerful girl I knew before.

"Great!" she exclaimed. I quickly ushered her and Juliet out of the gloom of the building, wanting to find Evelyn as soon as I possibly could. Ooh if only Erlos was here, he would know what to do!

"Well, do you guys know what that machine does?"

Floria shook her head and looked up at me with wide eyes, and Juliet merely shrugged silently. She didn't really seem to care all too much about it... But I continued speaking anyways.

"It gives you... Powers, in a sense. Extraordinary powers. And ironically, it can only be used on mortals!" I explained cheerfully, grabbing both girls by the elbow and smoothly making our way through the crowded streets. Man, it was like always rush hour in this place.

We headed in the direction of where I thought the Dream Palace was, and the guards let us in without a problem. As we walked along the stone path together, a soft noise behind us made me turn around. And smile.

"Evie!" Evelyn rushed towards us and breathed in relief, with Valor landing just behind her.

"Where did you guys run off to?!" She took one good look at them and instantly knew exactly where they had been. "H-How?"

I shrugged and beckoned Evelyn and Valor to follow me. Once inside the castle, I took the group to my room and gestured towards the lavish furniture for them to be seated.

"Well, it looks like Julie and Florie found the human-power-machine-thingy," I informed Valor and Evelyn. The name of the device escaped me at the moment...

"How?" Evelyn turned two sharp eyes on Juliet, but the human didn't even flinch.

"It was worth investigating," was all the green-haired girl said.

"A man took me to it," Floria told us.

"So they now have powers, right?" Evelyn nodded in answer to my question, rising from a chair to pace the floor.

"That thing could have killed you!" She scolded them, throwing her hands up in the air. She continued to pace the floor, and Valor gazed at her worriedly.

"It did not," Juliet stated matter-of-factly.

"We are still here!" Floria chimed in, kicking her legs back and forth from table she was perched upon.

"But you still could have been!"

"I wonder what powers they have," Valor murmured to himself, barely loud enough for me and Evelyn to hear. Ev shot a quick glance towards me, and I could see the uneasy expression that crossed her face clearly when she saw the gears in my brain turning.

With a devilish smile, I turned my bright eyes on the mortal girls. "Well, I guess we'll just have to find that out now!"

Still don't know what their powers are. XD Sorry for the short post, I hope you like it! ^^
