Shervlog - 006 - P-Tower

We have yet another barbecue/get together with the cousins. Also included in this week's Shervlog is even more monotony!

Crit 05 - Clubbin'

Call me an old fashioned git, but does anyone else here can't stand when people say that they're constant clubbers?

Sure, it might just be a community full of hidden surprises that's waiting for me to join, but I don't see the point now.

I would probably join something lamer such as a disco or rave, hopefully without any methamphetamines or ecstacy supplements. Although I've never been to both, they seem more appealing to me.

I shouldn't vent my anger towards clubs. They might be a semi-decent place to meet new people, however, it's just not for me. The dancing part is what bothers me the most. For the teenagers who are transitioning into adulthood in this era, I see grinding as the most common expression of dance.

Grinding, or the dry rubbing of genitalia, is stupid. Even during the early 2000s when I had my first middle school dance, grinding was extremely popular. I hated it ever since I first experienced watching it myself at that same dance. I believe that it's almost like public sex.

For these people, grinding is the new hello, I'm kind of close to having sex with you.

It's hard to get my true feelings across regarding this topic. I'm sure you can find tons of flaws within my argument such as how I've never been to a club before. Just know that I had a long day and I'm sick of my fellow coworkers who constantly go grinding.

Follow up to SFIV Players? Crit 04

So, after somehow managing with C. Viper's trials, I decided to try fighting someone online with her again.

I managed to win only one round against this guy who used Juri. However, I noticed that this guy's gamertag included the name Viper in it, so I got a little worried.
Well, my worst nightmare came true. He dished out C. Viper with a grade of B (9000 PP).

He basically annihilated me with C. Viper. I gave up half-way because he was just too good. I obviously want to be good, but not this insanely good.

This was yet another melancholy quit for Sherr. To top it off, he decided to put some more salt with a little acid into my already gaping wounds and trash talk me. Just pretend that this is C. Viper messaging me on XBL.

So evidently, C. Viper called me this and that… so I should stop running away? I don't think I was running away since I couldn't move at all. I don't want to take this personally, but obviously I am.

I just hate it when people have to talk down on you. Whenever I won in Tekken, I never messaged to someone, "OH, LEARN HOW TO PLAY THE GAME, DB!!" Sure, it's expected of the XBL community, but people seriously need to learn respect. LOL, U MAD? U MAD?? Children and immaturity, the PINNACLE of the XBox Live experience!

I read this article through NewsRob (Google Reader) and found this study that explained that negativity towards a coworker's mistake at the workplace only increases the chance of error. On the other hand, positivity and encouragement increased productivity and rate of success.

We obviously know that this guy is good, but I can't play SFVI all day. I only have a month's experience. I don't think I can even play any level near professional due to nursing school coming up in less than a month. All I want is to get good to the point where I can actually win some games, instead of signing on SFIV online again just to lose 20+ matches in a row.

So because of that message he sent to me, I reported him. I don't think he'll get a temporary ban, but it's worth a shot.

Street Fighter IV players? Hear me out.

Seriously, are there any of you guys out there? I think I remember one guy from the chat awhile ago. Well, this might be a long read. I'm gonna try my best to condense it. Keeping it simple!

My friend, Jon got Street Fighter IV around the first week it came out. At first, I was like… BLEH! SFIV?? PLAY MORE TEKKON SIX6!!! I did play SFIV with him for a bit that day using CONTROLLERS. 'Til this day, his best character is Ryu on the controller. One character caught my eye and it was C. Viper.

I really liked her style and moves. However, Jon would always pulverize me… even though I was the one who had to teach him how to do ultras and specials, lol. So because of that, I gave up on SFIV that day. I didn't have a PS3 and I wasn't planning on buying it for the 360.

I did eventually purchase Tekken 6 for the 360 w/ the Hori stick, mind you stick freaks. After the small learning curve of learning the stick, I got a lot better with Asuka. I was okay online. I think my current record is 110+ to 100… which is about average. I eventually decided to put down the stick for college.

After school, I decided to stop over my friend's house. I wanted to play Tekken again, but everyone else wanted to play Street Fighter. So I decided to return to playing C. Viper again, getting rocked by both of my friends now. I thought to myself, why am I losing all the time with C. Viper? Whenever my friend took out Ryu, I decided to take out Ken. I ultimately did defeat him with Ken a couple of times, lol. WEIRD, INNIT?

Because of that experience, I decided to buy SFIV for myself. Oh boy, even more losses to come. I'm still quite new to the game and only have a month's time experience. I do not want to play anyone else 'cept C. Viper. I'm still half interested in Ken and a bit interested in Rose though, but C. Viper is my main.

I just quit now because some guy just defeated me with my own character whom he used 7x better. I really want to complain and vent my anger so ya'll can pity me, but that's not the cool thing to do. I can see the random people out there saying, U MAD?? lol.

I just wonder if I approached SFIV wrong. Is using C. Viper as my first and main character for a SFIV beginner good? Despite her learning curve? I know all her moves and possible combos, but whenever I'm actually fighting, I get pressured and can't execute anything well. Sometimes I feel like I don't even understand the basics that well, which is aggravating.

Call me stupid, but I also can't get too competitive because school is drawing closer. However, these losses seriously have to stop. My current online record holds as 1 win to 100+ losses. I'm not kidding you. That one win was probably from me using Ken, haha.

So now I'm reaching out. Anyone here with XBL want to help me get better? I know it's a long shot, but it doesn't hurt to try.

Idea! - Update

I'm sure a handful of you guys remember my idea just a few posts back.

Well, I've decided that I'm not going to do it. Sure, it sounds like a lot of fun and all, but I feel like I need to adjust to the first levels of nursing school first before I can juggle a part time job over the weekends.

The renovation will take at least a month and a half, but I hope it doesn't extend even further. I have a decent amount of bills to pay off every month and the money I get from every paycheck helps a lot.

Also, I wonder how my coworkers who have no choice but to work there will fare. I hope that they find alternative sources to get a reasonable income because living off the minimum wage game seems extremely difficult.

On the bright side, I'm a bit excited about the actual results of the renovation. Our store is the best in our local branch and I hope that a redesign will give it that #1 aura. I don't know why I get giddy about such small things, but I love when things get a fitting face-lift for the better.
