...Do as the Japanese do. Or something like that.

My brother, sister (TwistedCyberChick) and I will be in Japan from the 9th of October to the 3rd of November.

Our mother is making us all keep detailed diaries of our trip.

While in Japan (if I have daily access to a computer) or once I get home, I plan on typing up those diary entries (or spruced up versions of them, including pictures and or videos) on this world.

I hope you will enjoy!

Now, here's some wicked awesomeness for you to enjoy until then.

Tis Bump of Chicken, and a song they recorded for One Piece (thus explaining why a flock of Luffy's goes running by twice) called Sailing Day.

Twisted is a guest poster here, so perhaps you will get to read some semi-intelligent posts along with my nonsensical random ones.

Day Three in Japan

It's Sunday morning. Once again, Twisted and I wake up stupid early. After taking a walk somewhere (the location and duration elude me) we eat some leftover tasty stew goodness and rice, also, some persimmons. Yay! One interesting thing about Japan. Apparently they simply do not believe in food poisoning. I guess they don't have bacteria and microorganisms in the entire country or something. The stew we ate had been left out on the stove in a pot all afternoon and night before we ate it for breakfast. Yikes! However, no illnesses were contracted.

Once again we go out in our volunteer preaching work, this time with a simply adorable girl, Tomoko Daidoji. Actually, Tomoko is 36 years old, though she looks maybe 23. So cute.

Once we get home, Twisted and I eat the last tiny bits of the tasty stew and rice (which, once again, have been left out on the stove). After this, Twisted and I take a walk to the grocery store, called Avance. In the katakana under the name it says "Abanse", the Japanese pronunciation (which I'm assuming is a poorly translated form of Advance, but whatever). Twisted and I will have to buy our groceries for ourselves at this store. The couple we are staying with will be going on vacation in Okinawa for a week and we will have to fend for ourselves whilst at home. When we go to our Bible studies and out in our ministry we won't be alone, but still. It's a little daunting.

This is something adorable we see at the store.

Yes, that boy's shirt says "Relaxation Important". I love the Engrish in Japan. So humorous.

Once we get home we get ready for a Bible discourse and discussion that we will be attending. Our brother, Tofu, is the one giving the discourse, and he has a migraine, the poor fellow. He does well, needless to say, speaking slightly slower and trying not to use too many ginormous scientific terms because almost the entire congregation is comprised of non-native English speakers.

We get to meet many nice people in the congregation. I went to that same congregation once when I was in Japan a year and a half ago so I already know some of the people. For Twisted and Tofu, though, there are many new people to meet. Twisted and I get to meet Tofu's other roommate, Akira Sato, who is recovering for a car accident he had just prior to our arrival in Japan. Akira is absolutely insane. Nice and funny, but insane.

After the congregation meeting, many gather at Twisted and my host families house to talk and eat dinner. We meet a Japanese speaking family whose house we will later stay at for two nights. Very exciting.

We go to bed extremely exhausted, but very happy that night.

Day Two in Japan

Wake up at 5:00. It's pretty darn cold and damp in our bedroom of 4 1/2 tatami mats. All is still and quiet outside and inside the house. Except for the fact that Hatsumi and Jiro, our host-couple's cats, ran around like frickin' maniacs attacking some things of catnip we gave them. Arg.

Twisted and I groan about not being able to sleep (went to bed after midnight after being awake for over 38 hours).

We eat our little gummy Flintstones vitamins (took em everyday. Oh yeah xD), roll out of bed and try to organize some stuff. Then we decide to take a walk to find a vending machine that is surely nearby (as they ALWAYS are in Japan) in order to procure some coke for Melinda to stave off the rampages of evil migraines. Oh joy.

We get us some drinks, take a lovely walk and then go back home. We eat a laaaate brunch thing (of tasty tasty stew) and then head off to a Bible study where we will see the brother-person.

Now, isn't that the gorgeousness? That lovely scenery was right by the building we went to most days for our Bible studies and whatnot. Teh awesome.

After the study we went out to do the volunteer missionary work that was the main reason we went to Japan. We had the chance to speak to loooots of people from countries such as the Philippines and Sri Lanka. For none of them was English their first language, but we had some nice Bible discussions.

After that we had to CRASH. Twisted and I were way out of it by 5 o'clock and we felt that we would die. No joke. So, we were in bed and asleep by 8. Go us.

Anywho, stay tuned for more of our adventures in Japan. TwistedChick and I appreciate it!

Day One in Japan

We landed in Narita at 4:00ish on Friday, October 10th.

Whilst on the plane Twisted had contracted a commonly fatal disease known as "Migraine Due to Lack of Movement and Severe Dehydration Oh and No Caffeine Isn't Helping Either People" which nearly killed her so I took most of the pictures in Narita.

We were scared we would not find our way to customs and whatnot but we just went with the flow and eventually ended up at the right spot. It wasn't even that scary and we got our bags rather painlessly. Nothing was missing.

The couple Twisted and I would be staying with were in plain sight, waving a sign that had all of our names and it. They make me giggle. So cute.

The man is Keizo and his wife is Naomi. She was teh adorableness. And yes. I typed "teh". Japanese people do not understand what you mean when you say "teh" so I recommend refraining from integrating slang into your speech patterns while in another country. Just a thought.

We changed our moneys into yen and were on our way.

We ate at a little rice-bowl restaurant chain called "Sukiya" which was tasty, too bad I had no appitite due to being on a plane for what felt like half of my life. Too bad. What was also too bad was that it was dark by this point and we all slept through the entire drive through Tokyo at night. The lights really are a spectacular sight (we went to Tokyo a few times during the trip, half of which was at night).

We dropped the brother person off at his host family (consisting of two guys living in a rather large (for Japan) appartment. One of which does physical labor, the other is a lab researcher of some form who does something with Teflon. It was all very vague when we asked him about his job). One of Tofu's (for that is what I call my brother) roomies had just prior to our arrival been in a vehicular accident and was staying at his hometown to recoup.

Then Twisted and I went to our host home to unpack and sleep. It took us forever to do this and we didn't get to sleep until well after midnight which left us being awake for well over 36 hours (for I may have slept for a total of 2 hours on the two airplanes we flew on).

Thus went our first day in Japan. Twisted's killer headache eventually got slightly better but she was still basically dead. Ah well.

Stay tuned (but not too closely. It may be a while. I'm a very busy person, you know) for the next installment of "When In Japan", brought to you by Fluffy Kitty Inc. and Coca-Cola (TM)

Otober 9th: 0 hour

So, we're about to leave for the airport.

It's around 5:30 now (accidentally got up 18 minutes late because I forgot to actually push the "set" button on my alarm clock on my phone -_-'. As I told timechaser, I packed my brain away in one of our thousands of suitcases.) and I have to scoot off to take a shower.

I won't be on theO much (at all) most likely for the next 26 days, so sorry about all the updates I'll miss on your worlds and manga and art and such.

I'll be sure to tell ya'll everything I can when I have the chance (maybe in Japan once or twice) but I'll be exhausted for a while when I get there as well as when I return.

My heart is seriously attacking my ribs right now. It's pretty intense. lol.

Anywho, I've gots ta go, my hommies.

Peace out, yo.

*shot*

Darn.

Toodles o(^-^)o

Saying Bye to the Parental Units

My mom is freaking out royally about us going to Japan.

So, I am going to leave this note, and a little bin full of cotton balls on the table when we are going to the airport. Hopefully, she'll notice it when she goes back home.

Here's the note thing (with our real names on it. Le Gasp!!)

So, I guess we're actually going to Japan. Man.....

Anywho, this is being dual-posted. Here, and in my other world "Shika's Lazy Nook". Feel free to check out that world, too!

I'm off to finish packing now, so, toodles!!!
