News: Live-Action Patlabor To Be A T.V. Series

Today, I found some new detail on the upcoming live-action Patlabor from Otaku USA's website. Similar to the fact that G-Savior is live-action sequel to an anime (namely Mobile Suit Victory Gundam), this installment of the Patlabor franchise, to be a 12-episode T.V. series titled The Next Generation Patlabor, will be a sequel (though Otaku USA didn't clarify if it will be in continuity with the 1988 Patlabor OVA or in that with the 1989 Patlabor TV series), and centering around new police officers in Tokyo's Special Vehicles Section 2, though it will also feature as a supporting character, Labor maintenance chief Shiba from the Patlabor anime (to be played by the character's anime voice actor Shigeru Chiba). Plus, this upcoming show will maintain a rare approach in making anime-based live-action works as the original creators of Patlabor are attached to the production, and I think you'll be amazed by the labor design should you visit the webpage were I found out this piece of news.
