Anime/Manga That Could Use North American Film Treatments (Part 2)

3 months, I posted up a list of amazing Anime/Manga titles (count both what I've seen and what I haven't seen) that I feel should get the chance of having North American T.V. series/Film treatments, although they're not next in line to be licensed for such action. What I listed are Anime/Manga titles that should be easy to be adapted/re-interpreted for North American entertainment (whether animated or live-action) without requiring a large amount of Asian actors to take part (although a few Asians do play roles in some Westernized takes on Japanese fiction stories so far).

What you see below is an expansion of that list, listing more Anime/Manga that may not be licensed for North American TV series/film treatments, but could use 'em:

  • "Black Lagoon"
  • "Dominion Tank Police"
  • "The Galaxy Railways"
  • "Submarine Super 99"
  • "Xenosaga"
  • "Gun X Sword"
  • "Negima": a North American film take could feature Negima teaching a different set of pretty-looking schoolgirls.
  • "Black Rock Shooter": could work out as a North American film (regardless of setting), but would be more appropriate for the heroine to be played by a woman in her 20s, regarding her dark bikini top fashion image. Also, it would be fun to see the BRS with a new identity while making sure the work would appeal to westerners.
  • "Cardcaptor Sakura": could work out as a North American animated series set in a Western-like setting, so as long the clow book concept and characters Sakura and Kero remain intact.
  • "Mobile Police Patlabor": a North Amercan take on Patlabor could feature another country with its own police labor force.

Feel free to comment on what you think, but please no bashing against the Canadian and American film/industries.
