A while ago, I indicated that I dropped both my Anime Icons 2 plan (for Otakuthon 2012) and Anime Icons 3 plan (for Otakuthon 2013, which is not until next year). However, while I am currently working on my "Anime Tropes" series of fan art drawings, which is intended for art gallery showing at Otakuthon 2012, I am still considering contributions to the art gallery event at Otakuthon 2013.
For Otakuthon 2013, I am thinking about doing a series of colored fan art drawings called "The Decades of Anime". Each piece will use the same dimensions as each installment of my "Anime Tropes", but focusing on a specific decade in the history of Japanese Animation, and there will be five installments so as to cover from the 1960s to the 2000s. So each installment will feature characters/mecha that appeared in anime works released within the decade the image itself focuses on.
On another note, because next year will be the 60th anniversary of Leiji Mastumoto's career as a visual artist, if not mistaken, I am also thinking about doing for art gallery showing, two fan art pieces to celebrate: one featuring anime/manga characters created and/or designed by Leiji Matsumoto (like Captain Harlock, Maetel, Susumu Kodai, etc.), and another featuring several mecha the master himself conceived and/or designed for anime and manga (like the Yamato from Space Battleship Yamato), the Deathshadow from Cosmowarrior Zero, the Mahoroba from Cosmo Super Dreadnought Mahoroba, the Big One from The Galaxy Railways, etc.).
Those I mentioned are just contemplations, which means I may or may not do these works, but whatever I get to do will be posted on theOtaku.com for everyone to see once finishd.
