Today, I made my first attempt at doing a vector with photoshop. The vector you see below is based on the upcoming "Star Trek" film and depicts James T. Kirk.
To do this hard task, all it took is setting up layers to trace in each a part of the figure as seen in a promo photograph, and to fill in the traced areas with colors and my own stylings, which were inspired by American animated Sci-Fi/action shows from the 1960s and 1970s. Although Kirk in the new movie is played by actor Chris Pine, who is blue-eyed, I made the eyes in this vector brown as a nod to the first "Star Trek" T.V. series, which did show Kirk as being both brown-haired and brown-eyed. Although a hard task, it was a fun experience for me, and I might want to do more "Star Trek" vectors in the future.
Currently, I'm planning to include this vector of Kirk in a "Star Trek" wallpaper I will make later on for submission to theOtaku.com. For now, I hope you enjoy this vector piece, and comments are welcome! Remember, if you plan to use this vector for a web design, a wallpaper, or what so ever, please credit me!
