*Disclaimer: I do not own Okami. You know that. This is simply a fanfiction-hosting WORLD in honor of one of my favorite characters from the game.

"Beauty is the beast. At least, that's what everyone thought. There's another side to the story, and that's why I'm here. To tell it."

Everyone who knows the Okami storyline knows about the tale of how the fox demon Ninetails killed a kind, gentle priestess and inhabited her body to trick the people she had been close to. In the game, Amaterasu interacts with, works alongside, even assists the impostor. And just when the player may start to attach themselves to the priestess, everything is revealed to be a facade. The actual priestess has been dead for who knows how long, which is proved by fleeting images of the woman's soul leading Amaterasu to the place where the truth about Ninetails and his inexcusable crime is revealed. But, as always, everything works out. Amaterasu avenges the death of not only the priestess, but of many others who had fallen to the fiend as well. The sun goddess kills the demon and destroys his dark fortress... and moves on, her legend still yet to be fulfilled, leaving questions both answered and unanswered in her wake.

But what about the priestess? What was she like before her death? How had she lived her life when things were peaceful, when Ninetails was just a silly story made up to scare children into behaving properly? Here, you'll find an answer for these questions and more.

Welcome to [A Day in the Life], a place where you can hear Rao's own account of her life, unscathed, untouched by a second opinion. She and I both hope you will enjoy.

Here is a list to help sort out chapters easier:
