21st of Nov. 2020: *checks watch* nope still not dead!

But wow man this place sure is a shadow of its former self *whistles*

20th of Nov. 2016: I'm not dead!

I'm doing OK, working and dealing with my mental health as well as I can. I won't be back here, though. I've started creating content for The Sims 3. As for anime, I've left it behind mostly.

If any of my old friends end up reading this - the years together have been great, and I still get nostalgic about them sometimes. Hope life is treating you well!~

8th of Nov. 2015: For anyone wondering what's happened to me

Simply put, I grew distant from TheO. The fine folks here have nothing to do with it, you all are still amazing (and I feel awful for missing so many birthdays >_<). Tagging on Minitokyo took up a lot of my time, and I gradually found myself visiting TheO less and less, until it got to literally months between visits. Hell, I don't even think I can remember my password, thank God Firefox has the option to save them.

I'm also not that interested in anime anymore - I mean, I like the style and still add to my collection of eye candy, but I don't feel the need to keep up with new releases. I've got my gigs of old manga and am pretty much satisfied with that. Art-wise, the same: haven't felt the drive to pick up or finish a work in months, probably as a result of my passion for anime fizzling out. I'm still playing The Sims 3, and have picked up Doom too (love them custom WADs!).

Anyway, if you made it this far, thanks for the visit. Drop me a line on Minitokyo if you feel like it.
Hope all is well with you, and a huge thanks for the support. Take care.

Quick (somewhat panicky) post

My mom got a turtle :I Impulse buy. I'm slowly learning how to look after it.

Exploring the bowl she came in
Most artsy shot yet
The lame little bowl she came in (arranged a bigger, deeper one)
View from above
Can't tell if feisty or curious
She loves to climb on my stuff
She also loves to trek across my keyboard

The little bugger is so photogenic <3 I think it's a girl - either way, I'm naming it Kiri (the name just popped into my head randomly). It does seem to have suicidal tendencies though, as it keeps wanting to catapult off my table (1 meter height). A smart animal, she is not. But I love her anyway <3

Aside from this, the most notable thing that's happened is that I helped organize a tagging contest on MT and I'm now tagging the Japanese hair met- I mean visual kei gallery.
Oh, and I've changed my icon to be more in tune with the holidays.

I dropped off the face of the earth.

And I wish I could say I've come back, but that'd probably be, uh, not true.

It's annoying when it seems like every other post I make in this world is about going in a hiatus/feeling tired etc. However, I still felt the need to post this after going a while and not feeling like "officially" coming back to TheO. I'm sure I'm mostly driven by nostalgia when saying what a great place TheO is, and I'd be lying if I said I haven't met any great people here recently (I did, and I'm sorry I abandoned you out of the blue), but I've lost interest in TheO for the time being. Which should come as no surprise, as I haven't posted in ages.

So yes, I'm considering leaving TheO for good - as an actively participating member, that is. Nothing I'm doing ATM is interesting enough to be talked about and I'm bored of making graphics. I don't feel there's a point to posting on TheO about my personal life since not many know me enough to care (and that's perfectly natural) and graphics-wise, I'm not sure how much attention my stuff is getting; I don't crave 50 comments per post, but I sometimes wonder if what I'm doing is even noticed when I go 10 posts without any sort of feedback. I'm not blaming anyone for this, hell, even I like to download stuff without saying "thanks" most of the time; it's just the way things are.

That's about it, I guess. I'll still come back once in a while to check out how things are, maybe chat with someone for a bit and maybe even submit something, if I get my graphics mojo back. But at this point, I can't promise anything. You'll still find me on MT, at war with tags as usual lol XD Hope everyone is doing fine here and, well, if you're not, things can only get better, eh?

Absurdly happy!

The last two days can be summed up perfectly in Christian Bale's face:

Why? Well:
1. I got into the Master's program I wanted, namely International Diplomacy. And for free, too!

2. I was promoted to Moderator on MT.

I feel like I just gained another level in Awesomeness :D
And after all the stress of the last few months, it feels damn good.

I leave for a little while...

And Animepaper is gone :| Really? What happened? Thank god TheO and MT are still here!

In other news, I'm done with one of my theses. There, finito. Not many pleasant memories associated with it, but I still love the topic to death ("How cliches are translated from horror movies to their posters in 2000-2013") and I hope to resume writing reviews and watching more movies. I'm already waay behind on movies and Game of Thrones, and I vow to watch one movie/day this summer! Oh, and read more manga, that 50 manga challenge isn't going to finish itself! ^^"

Tl;dr: I'm alive, praise the lawd! :D

On theses and music

Why hello again c: I do hope you remember me. Well, I've been bothering people with comments lately, so there's that. I've passed 3.000, woo.

As usual, when I'm swamped with assignments I have zero drive to actually get them done. I mean, it's 1 a.m. and I spent around 2 hours chatting with a friend via microphone about...virtually nothing important ._. And I did plan to study for the exam on Monday, too. I'm also supposed to turn in around 40 pages from one of my theses on Monday, take aforementioned exam on Monday and submit the second part (~20 pages) of my other thesis on Thursday...and I haven't even started writing it. Fun times. So, I've made...

sweetdevil's playlist of songs that are good for studying!
fun. - Some Nights
Train - 50 Ways to Say Goodbye
Steppenwolf - The Pusher
Foster the People - Pumped Up Kicks
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Thrift Shop (oh how I love this one!)
Alan Price - House of the Rising Sun
Depeche Mode - Ghost
Gotye & Kimbra - Somebody That I Use To Know (Jr Blender Reggae Remix) (takes a bit of getting used to, but love the different sound)

Because I'm commercial and conforming as all hell. And I have a tendency to hear about songs a year after they're out...even if they're "smash hits". And it's not really a playlist, more of an "pick one and have it on repeat in the background for the rest of the day". My neighbors must hate me XD
