Finally, my site is up!

I'll make this quick 'coz I have a lot of things to do. My new Filipino fansite for Detective Conan is now online. The link is:

Isang Katotohanan (One Truth)

I made sure it would open today at 4pm Philippine time to commemorate the 7th anniversary of the first TV broadcast of the series in the country.

For all of my fellow Filipino DC fans, I hope you'll like it.

Posting and Catching Up

If you didn't notice, my seventh fan word is up. It's a re-submission of my Top Ten list from 2006. This list explored how anime characters respond to that infamous chicken joke (How did the chicken cross the road?). If you haven't read it, you can always take your handy-dandy mouse (or whatever device you're using) and click here.

On other stuff, I got to read the Detective Conan manga today. I'm at Volume 2, in the "One Billion Yen Robbery Case". Quite a powerful story, I gotta say. And yeah, I'm still so way behind. Hopefully, I can reach whatever the latest chapter is by the end of this year. That way, once Gosho Aoyama ends Detective Conan anytime soon, I'm more or less prepared to know the ending.

On more stuff, tomorrow I'll be taking my final midterm exam, which is for Psychometrics. Right now, I'm making my project for the subject. It's simply a case study of myself with some psychological stuff involved. It's fairly easy, but I'm trying to make sure I don't go out and revealing everything about myself. It's just a project anyway, and printing costs are not that cheap.

And that's about it. Nothing too exciting, huh? I guess that's what college does to you: it makes your life less interesting than high school.

Anyway, take care and have a nice day.

Some Things Are Just Surprising

- Putting all political controversies aside. The opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics was --- SO AMAZING! The choreography was so cool, music was so nice, effects were so great --- it was just SO DARN AMAZING! I'm not a huge fan of the Olympics, so I guess it means a lot for me to say how much I enjoyed watching the opening ceremonies. (More of it can be read in Only In Asia.)

- I just learned that Detective Conan is coming back once again. Same time, same channel. This is great news for me. Although I'm kinda wondering where they'll start off. Will they go back to episode 1 or will they start off to where they last ended? One thing's for sure: I really need to catch up on the series.

- I'm surprised the Top Ten list I've re-submitted did pretty well. Actually, it did really, really well. In just a day, it became my highest-rated fanword. Wow. Never really thought that would happen.

- That's about it for today. Gotta go study for next week's midterms.

Happy Meal Moments with Conan

It was Tuesday afternoon when I decided to make my move. After sitting through three hours worth of lectures in Guidance Counseling and World Literature...

The Detective Conan Dilemma

NOTE: This was originally meant to be a submission for Sun.Star Daily, a local newspaper in Cebu, Philippines. However, it seems that the essay was rejected. One of my all-time favorite anime series is "Detective Conan". You know, ...
