Death or a lie?

I sat there. Trapped in a pool of my own blood. I must of ran out by now, how was I still breathing? My killer stood in front of me with a blank face.

People were walking past us like we weren’t even there. Did we actually exist? I don’t know any more. “So you’ve noticed.” He said as I broke out of my confusion.

“Why isn’t anyone noticing?” I questioned.

“You have been dead for 15 years.” I was fifteen. I died when I was born.

“If I died then, then how come I have lived and interacted with people?” My bleeding stopped. I could still breathe.

“Your parents begged for you to live. You shouldn’t be here. That’s why I had to rid you from this lie of a life, Kame.” I hate my name now. It symbolises long life.

“What about you? Why did you come for me?”

“I’m a Shinugami. It’s my job, and ever since I laid my eyes on you, I have felt pity. I couldn’t bare to watch you be led into a lie.”

“I guess I need to go with you now.” He held out a hand, and I took it.

“Yeah.”
