Kailith's Character, Aine!

[√] I understand, you have my permission. I wish to join the club.

Character's Full Name: Aine Whelan (From the Gaelic Ó Faoláin meaning "descendent of Faolán", a given name meaning "wolf")

Pronunciation: “awn + yay” (Irish root of the name Anya), Well-an

Species: Tuatha Dé Danann (A type of Celtic deity, thought to be derived from the pre-Christian deities of Ireland. I’ve taken a few creative liberties, so she’s more like a Celtic faerie.)

Abilities: Shapeshifting (animals only), mildly enhanced strength

Age: Likely to be millennia old, but looks to be fifteen

Height: 5’5”

Hair: Dark red, long and wavy

Eye Color(s): Gray

Skin Color(s) Pale, but not pasty

Personality: Serious, soft-spoken, considers actions thouroughly. Can come across as shy.

Looks: Light sprinkling of freckles on her face and arms. A few cutting scars on her wrists.

Appearance: A girl of average build. Usually has twigs and leaves tangled in her mane of hair. Her hair goes down mid-back, and is always swept behind her.

Outfit/Style: Wears loose and flowing clothes; doesn’t like form-fitting things.

Likes: Nature, the colour green, velvet

Dislikes: Pollution, humans, cramped spaces

Strengths: Can shapeshift into a limited selection of animals (fox, tawny owl and common dragonet, all species from her native Ireland. She can also turn into a grey wolf, but doesn’t, seeing as they’re extinct there.), has slightly enhanced physical strength.

Weaknesses: Iron (as per mythology). Also, if something happens and she’s weakened in an animal state, she’s stuck like that until her strength returns.

Fears: Darkness. She’s unused to total darkness because in the mountains and valleys, she could always see the moon and the stars in the sky. She’s also a bit claustrophobic.

Relationships: Can be distant at first, but generally warms up to people after a while. She doesn’t really like people touching her.

Family: Her mother was also of the Tuatha Dé Dannan; she usually took the form of a grey wolf. She was killed in 1786, and to keep her mother’s memory strong Aine took on the last name Whelan, which has the meaning listed above.

History: After Aine lost her mother, she retreated to the parts of Ireland that were uninhabited. As humans continued to settle further and further into her territory, she went into a depression and started to cut, because she believed they would lock her up if they found her and she never forgave them for the death of her mother. She’d managed to avoid human contact for a thousand years, until now....
