Calista Devellis Chapter 1

Once upon a time, in Thorliskali, Saltney, Calista Devellis sat by the old railroad tracks, playing a melody on her Violin. It was a song that had no end. It would sound so familiar to a passerby yet, they couldn't give it a name. It had no name.
Calista sighed. She looked up at the stars that danced in the dark blue sky. If she stayed any longer she would have been in deep trouble, that or she would freeze to death before she came home. Fall was no place for her, no mater how beautiful it was.
The colors in fall were her favorite. In Thorliskali, the trees turned shades of red, yellow, orange and purple early but slowly, so that the the tiny old town could be beautiful again and have that same nostalgic feeling Calista got when she flipped through the pictures of when she was 8 and 8.
The cold, icy air brushed against her hot cheeks as she ran down the street towards main street, only to take a sharp turn to the right into a dark alley to Carter Lane. She slowed her pace and walked right up to the small, white house with a garden out front full of roses and lilies and other pretty things. The willow tree loomed over her as she cut through the garden into the metal back door, which she closed silently.
"Your lucky I don't tell mom!" Margret growled at her younger sister.
"Sorry. It won't happen again." Calista proceeded to feed her cat Uri,whom she named after the cat in her favorite anime. That was a secret though. No one knew she liked anime, or why she named her cat Uri.
"yeah that'll be the day!" Margret rolled her eyes and went back to texting her new boyfriend. She looked over at Calista and noticed her now making tea. stirring in a little bit of sugar, Calista got out some cream and poured it in. She capped the carton and placed it in the fridge then started to stir the tea until in was a light beige color.
"You put in too much cream." Margret said bluntly.
"No i didn't. This is how I like my tea." Calista gave a small smile then took a small sip from the cup. Her smile dropped. "Your right."
"Like always!" Margret laughed. She went over and made herself some tea as well. Tradition Calista thought, always the same. Nothing ever changes. until today, that is.
"What song?" Calista smiled as she quickly set down her tea and opened her violin case.
"Huh?" Margret became a little concerned.
"What song do you want me to play for you?" Calista asked again. Margret nearly did a spit take and decided it was best to set down the cup.
"Why?" Her phone went off but she ignored it.
"I thought It would be nice." Calista placed her bow on the violin. "What song?"
"Play part of Wanderer!" She blurted out. Celtic music. Calista new it well. Alright. Her bow moved back and forth as she started to match the bits and pieces she remembered. All she remembered was enough to make Margret smile and draw the attention of her family. She hoped this proved she wasn't just goofing off all the time and that she was worth something.
