Some More Favorite Anime OPs

First off, a bit of disturbing news on the TV today.

Three kids at a middle school in a nearby county, all of them only 13 years old, were planning a massacre similar to Columbine. Fortunately, this one was caught before it had a chance to happen because police took seriously some remarks one of the kids posted on MySpace. With so many shootings taking place already this year, it's a relief to hear that something of that magnitude was prevented.

And my replacement CD arrived in the mail today

Once again it was fun watching Speed Grapher actually airing on TV. I'm so glad IFC is playing anime, uncut, and that I actually get the channel (the only one in the 200s we appear to get as part of our digital service, the rest are subscription), AND that their three new shows this year are ones I already enjoy. I've never kept up with Ani-Mondays on SciFi, and Adult Swim hasn't had anything interesting in awhile, so Friday nights on IFC have become my little anime TV haven.

Anyway, Episode 2 of Speed Grapher should more aptly be labeled "Episode 1.5"; while the first episode introduced us to the male lead, Saiga, this one went back to introduce the audience to the female lead, Kagura. Both episodes end in the same place, which is where Episode 3 will pick up the narrative and run.

Witchblade was good as always. I find the show very entertaining, particularly in the character interactions. It was funny watching little Rihoko play mother/nurse maid to a hungover Takayama. My only beef is that the Cloneblades always seem a bit stronger than Masane, even though she's the one wearing the real Witchblade. Hopefully this will change with time.

And now, since I haven't touched this in weeks, I return to posting links for my remaining favorite anime OPs:
