Capricorn's are associated with fearless ambition, limitless resilience, their ability to keep pushing forward, even in the face of challenging adversity and painful strife.
Might Guy's philosophy reads exactly like this, the burning spirit of youth instilled in this green god of raw power resonates with those around him and even though he's permanently wheelchair bound, he still promotes his special blend of energy.

What Did They Do to Shino?

Naruto characters make for good observations, who knew?

When it comes to the Konoha 12 and their designs, who out of them is the most likely to become a teacher?
If you said Rock Lee, you would be right.
If you said Shino, I'd have to question your logic, yet Shino has essentially taken Ebisu's place as the goofy put upon teacher, yet one look at his design from Season 1 would suggest a different path.
The vibe I get is mysterious, stoic, unflinching, he's about to kill you.
His insect ninjutsu would suggest that he's into some horrific torture methods so I would've picked him as an interrogation officer for ANBU, but come Boruto he's lost all his cool mysterious aura and become a goofy teacher, it's a complete 180 degrees in terms of change, especially when the rest of the 12 were pretty easy to predict, even Neji with the way he talked about his fate in his clan was always destined to die.
Is this a good character? Hard to say really, he was done pretty dirty throughout his run as a character, he lost his relevance after the Chuunin exam, so seeing Shino like this as an adult makes me wonder what triggered that change in personality or maybe it was just a phase.

Sakura Shouldn't Have Sucked

While Hinata is a good character that didn't suit Naruto, Sakura is a bad character that did suit Naruto.

A first glimpse of Sakura suggests confidence, no nonsense personality and very hot tempted to the point where you would bill her as the physical one amongst team 7, but it didn't go so well.
Her chuunin exam was an absolute joke, she couldn't handle the sound trio, her fight against Ino was little more than a school yard cat fight, she did nothing to help retrieve Sasuke and had way too much screen time in the fillers.
It took until 2005 when Shippuden began officially in the manga for Sakura to live up to her design, that's five and a half years of stories, even beyond that she wasn't immune to her old mistakes still not being able to handle confronting Sasuke.
Sakura's daughter Sarada is a better Sakura than Sakura!
Criticism of Sakura's uselessness is justified especially when her position was meant to put her on the same level as Naruto and Sasuke but only once in the whole series run did they all fight on equal billing and that was near the end of the series.

Hinata Doesn't Belong in Naruto

Continuing my discussion on character design, we start with regular entry in this world, Hinata Hyuga.

Naruto has been around for 23 years with the anime being 20 years old. (yes, that is bloody old) It can be a bit of a hard ask to return so early in the franchise's life because let's be honest, it's a little cringe.
Rather than suspend your disbelief at the fact that the lead character wears orange, I want to bring your attention to early Hinata.
Using the first impressions method, you can tell that she is shy, looks like she wants to make a love confession, usually quiet, doesn't want to be here, really unprepared as a ninja, even when you see her with Byakugan, compared to Neji who looks genuinely intimidating, Hinata looks like someone stole her favourite snack from the fridge.
In Shippuden, she looks like senpai noticed her and is meeting him on the rooftops.
In Boruto, she looks like a proud mother.
Now Hinata is not a bad character, the fact that I can identify her character with her design alone indicates a well designed character, but when you use the setting, plot and universal laws of the series, she does not suit the franchise at all, she belongs in a school romantic comedy or the shy one among a harem.
This also makes her rare moments of bravery all the more incredible and you suddenly get behind her to succeed, this is why she ended with Naruto instead of Sakura, her problem is very different and will be the next entry.

Hinata's Ramen Feat is Based on an Actual Eating Challenge

If you think these little reviews are small then it's because I hope to revisit the characters again later to maybe talk about something else, so expect a few of them to make reappearances later on, for now we start with some fact hunting.

Hinata Hyuuga to most is the shy girl who loves Naruto and eventually became his wife, but looking at her history, the moments we do get from her including her shadow like dance on the water, her brave attempt at fighting Pain, her big moment of finally becoming Naruto's true love and her insatiable appetite for Ramen.
Naruto's affinity for ramen created a couple of one off episodes centering around a ramen eating contest where a select group of characters battle it out by consuming as many bowls of Ramen as possible, the winner is not Chouji whose whole jutsu revolves around eating, it's not Kiba who likely has the appetite of an animal and it's not Naruto who pretty much eats it every day, it's actually Hinata.
This feat pays homage to a real life Ramen eating challenge in a century old Ramen shop called Azumaya, the challenge is to consume as many small bowls of Wanko Soba Noodles, for context 15 small bowls equals 1 standard size.
The current world record is 570 bowls set by a Japanese woman of whom the owner described in his own words "toothpick thin" it's mind boggling to think that anyone could consume that much.
For context Hinata's equivalent record would be 690 bowls after a small bit of math, but what really can be taken from this is that it's always the person you least suspect beating these challenges and this little bit of Japanese history inspired this popular Naruto gag.
