It's been quiet on here at the otaku lately o_o....
I don't blame anyone that though, since it's been the holidays, and everyone's no doubt been busy. Here's my rundown on christmas presents for those that are curious:
Portal (good game)
a table easel (reeeally short easel)
some canvases
a purse.... (I don't do purses zpz; but it's the thought that counts)
perfume (are they trying to tell me something o_o?)
a camera! (no pics of wht -0- dunnnask)
three...umm... fake swords?
TV and TV stand (been wanting that for the past couple of years now zpz')
A Camera I wanted for awhile. just another form of art I can always utilize zwz also I can use it to get some new textures n' stuff I can use >o>! most everything else is self explanatory except for these swords I got....
Now I dunno how many people 'round here are sword enthusiasts, and I know a few things about swords n' all, but I KNOW these aren't even replicas. There's no tang whatsoever, the "blade" (which IS metal) doesn't have an edge, the hilt, and handle is made out of what we can figure out of a very soft wood, like pine, plastic, a bolt and some aluminum.
Now I'm not complaining really, and I KNOW these are from my dad (A man who's never spent more than 15 dollars on a gift unless you practically beg for it during Christmas-and that's usally with a game--and that's ONLY if he can't find it used or on Ebay) so I wasn't expecting much in the first place xpx lol
But I AM curious about what you call these---fake swords? display swords? cosplay swords? We joked about this too. Saying there was four types of swords: real high quality ones, the replicas that still have an edge, but not as sharp, then you have whatever these are, and then you have Toys R' Us.
Anyways afterwards, my stepdad felt pretty bad about my getting them xpx' he owns a few replica/display swords, and they stay hung on his wall, so he talked to mom about my getting a nicer katana whenever they get the chance.
The TV and TV stand I've been wanting to get for awhile. I've had a tiny 13 inch TV, and it's brightness has long been the bane of my gaming problems. Changing settings never worked, and no matter what I did, I could never get the brightness of a game down. Oh it also hummed loudly on a few occasions-- that CAN'T be good >o>; Watching TV hasn't been so bad, but whenever it came to game watching or even DVD watching, the picture would be terrible. An example: the wii's display menu would be completely white, and all I could see was the channels themselves. I could barely see the buttons at the bottom, and forget about seeing the clock.
I knew from when this started I'd need a new TV- and no doubt a larger one, which ment I'd end up not using the small pink stand I had for years, so I needed a new TV stand. I started asking about 2-3 years ago, and each Christmas and each Birthday, I'd be told I'd get both, and never did.
Code will later comment, after hearing my grandmother calling me "lazy" (of all things because I was laying in bed watching TV 'cause I wasn't feeling well) that she had no right to call me such when she hasn't even gotten around to getting that TV and TV stand she promised a few years ago xpx' lol
ANYWAYS I has more stories from this holiday, but quite frankly, I don't think anyone wants to hear the drama >O>! but that's my week! Spent most of Christmas at mom's, so I didn't have regular computery access, hence why I've been quiet n' whatnots!
