Personality: Yumi can seem to be short with people, but that's only because she's sizing them up. In a more relaxed state, she has a dry, dark sense of humor, but she prefers to not waste energy on outbursts of emotion. She also garners enjoyment from observing the chaos of others.
Orientation: Straight. She's fond of coldly and unceasingly shutting down all advances towards her... But she’d be interested in a guy capable of proving himself to be more than what he seems to be.

Background: Yumi grew up in Cay of Summer with her father Baldric. Baldric was a Beedrill of much renown, known for keeping his home well-protected. He would train unceasingly, especially when the town was at peace, and Yumi would often spend a good deal of her time watching her dad and occasionally training with him.
One rainy day, however, Baldric vanished. Unable to locate her father, Yumi was forced to don the mantle of the Cay’s protector when a vicious Skarmory bandit named Serkan attacked. Woefully undertrained, Yumi pushed herself to her limits in an effort to protect the town. Over the course of a week, Serkan launched his assault again and again in an attempt to liberate the town of its wealth, and in the process gave Yumi a terrible wound across her chest. Unable and unwilling to pause for medical treatment, Yumi continued in her struggle against the town’s attacker. At the end of the seventh day, when Yumi’s strength was all but spent, and Serkan was steps away from entering the town’s gate, Baldric appeared and released the brunt of his strength upon him. Serkan, caught completely off guard, lost his left arm to the Cay protector’s drills, and was launched backwards into the surrounding woods following Baldric’s second attack. As Serkan fled, Baldric picked up his daughter and took her home to tend to her wounds. All of this happened when Yumi was but 15.
When questioned, Baldric revealed that he had fallen into a well-made trap devised by Serkan to keep him out of the way – even with his years of strength and training, it took him 7 days to break free from it. Baldric could not hide the pride he felt for his daughter, though, and for her effort. As soon as Yumi was rested and healed, she asked her father to train her as hard as he had trained himself. He agreed, and so they trained together for 10 years together. At age 25, Yumi’s father told her that her valor was needed elsewhere in the world; there might be other places set upon by greedy bastards, he said, and she needed to be able to help those other towns. Inspired by her father’s confidence, Yumi set out from the Cay of Summer to explore the world and crush injustice.
