I know what you mean. I would need someone to motivate me. That's good. You'll probably get something more out of it than you would if you self-study. In my experience, we also got to learn about the culture in class. I have an app, Duolingo, and I'll be learning Italian from it so I'll probably be seeing what you mean x3
Yeah, the writing can be difficult and I still have trouble with it. If you don't get the chance to study abroad, maybe the teaching thing can count as studying abroad? X3 thanks! I most likely will as long as I'm accepted first c:

Lol not so well xD I'm not very on top of it! But I'm enrolled for a class in the fall :) I want to study abroad in Japan somewhere. Yeah Italian, even though I didn't learn much, is definitely easier. It's somewhat similar to English. I don't know what to think of Japanese grammar sometimes :P And the characters yes mostly the kanji and there's a bunch of different ways to write one pronunciation and they mean different things 0__o I don't know much about those teaching in Japan things but I've seen a little about it, it seems really cool ^__^ Good luck with the interview! And let me know if you decide to go along with it!
How's your self-studying going? Ooh, where for studying abroad? I thought since Italian was kinda close to English, it would be easier x3 Yeah, I feel like because they have all those characters and different writing systems, it can be hard. I'll have to ace the interview first but I hope I can pass! Going abroad and branching out sounds like a good experience. And it'll give me something to do. I just found out the program you apply for to teach in Japan has a seminar on learning it? I think they also provide a book so it seems I don't have to learn it at college.
I'm having trouble committing as well, but I reaaaally want to learn! I'm hoping to study abroad for a semester during college :3 After looking at Japanese, I feel like I shouldn't have thought trying to learn Italian was hard LOL. At least it is sort of like English. Asian languages are so much different 0__o (Not that I ever actually learned Italian)
Teaching in Japan sounds fun! Well, I think you should give learning the language another shot. I am a pretty firm believer that if you want to learn something and really try, you can do it!
Woahhh, I tried self-study but couldn't commit. Kanji is definitely the most complicated writing system in Japanese. It's especially different from Chinese characters. Yeah, grammar is hard too. At first I found it easy, but after some hardcore stuff (aka 3rd year), I felt like I was learning Spanish. Complicated stuff with conjugations and the tense, etc. ah, booooo for high school for not providing it. Hope you get to take it in college then! After 3rd year, I was done with Japanese. I forgot some stuff but I kinda remember the basics. I was thinking of picking it up since I have a thought of teaching in Japan as an option; I don't know what I want to do with my life and who knows if I can find an full-time job, y'know? Teaching in Japan would give some time to think and figure out what to do. Haha, or maybe I shouldn't take the language again?
Wow, sorry for the long comment lol x3
Haha no year. I started self-studying. Kanji is hard! I find the grammar of Japanese to be kinda confusing as well. I hopefully will take classes in college but right now I'm on my own xD My high school wasn't cool enough to have Japanese classes.
Good luck! I wasn't good at chem but my teacher was super nice, so I got good grades. Ooh, what year of Japanese? Kanji is the hardest. It gets so complicated.
Good luck on that! What are you studying? Being good at taking long breaks, I'll probably use that time for here...or watch shows x3 so much to catch up on

I'm not sure yet! Right now I'm leaning toward either Business or Biology. I am interested in a lot of things so it's hard to choose 0__o
