After this past week, I really needed to bring some spring warmth! We're going to have a ton more snow tonight and tomorrow, and we just recovered from having almost a week without electricity thanks to an ice storm! Ugh! So at least for a moment, here is some warmth lol. This card is also a Valentine's Day-ish card, sweet and romantic. :) Annnnd it's for dear Janet's bokeh challenge! (I hope you've been doing alright lately, Janet!)
I used this scan. Was searching through Mel Kishida's artwork (love him! He's the character artist for most of the Atelier games and Hanasaku Iroha), and I wanted something springlike. This one caught my eye...but for the purpose of my card, I didn't want the girl looking sad and unsure. So I used the smudge tool to make her mouth into a smile! :) A small edit that makes a big difference. Anyhoo, the rest of the work was brushwork and layers of color on different blending effects. The text says "You feel like spring in my heart." I wanted the typography to be more decorative than readable...just cause I liked it haha.
Enjoy!
