wow u bring up a good point. well refs dont bug me. sometimes i dont kno its a ref and i'm all lik "OMG THATS AWESOME!!" but if u reff every detail, it helps u. When i started drawing anime i sucked so i reffed waay back in third grade to get a feel of how to draw it, but yeagh we need more original poses, even if this was brought to notice waaay long ago, i just wanted to speak my mind XD .::timbermoonkiss::.

Your right there was a lot of tracing and refrencing... Its sad to see drawings that have been copied, traced, or refrenced. I used to be like that but now I print the pictures to give me ideas, not to copy or trace!

This makes it almost sound like referencing a pic is bad T^T Copying is bad, I agree. Tracing is alright for starters, since I did that when I was little, and everyone has to start somewhere. But tracing EVERYTHING is bad, and not giving credit or not admitting you traced is EVEN WORSE. I reference pics because I do art from a lot of different shows, and lots of different characters, so it can be difficult to go from style to style, and character to character. Maybe if I did one character all the time, I would not have to reference o_0 (Off topic! xD) Also, I like to get the details right, to do justice to the character and the original artist, you know. (Does that make sense? o_0...xD!) So, referencing really is not that bad. Some of the best artists I have seen reference, but do not copy. No wait. Tracing isn't bad, you just have to say you traced. all the time, PEOPLE TRACED. you trace in order to get a good feel of different poses, and such. Nothing is bad in the artist world, all ARTISTS trace time to time. it helps us learn better. References helps us, get used to new poses and it helps us to learn. it helps us to learn, and then we break off and do our own thing, so. i mean if you've seen a person TRACE all the time, and don't do oringal work, then its bad. but really. it helps artsits grow better. i know you remeber Tracing when you where young? i tried at tracing but i didnt like it. Tracing, Copying, WHATEVER it helps us get better. owo did anyone notice that in my old picture on da i used a reference? yeah. i was just starting out, and wasn't good at drawing. so i used a reference. i mean owo this whole skeet thing, all i say is, he has good talent, just use orignal poses but really i dont care. -Shrugs- i dont agree with this fully but i understand what your saying.

Tracing is bad, but I don't think referencing is all that bad. I mean seriously, there are only so many poses in the world that one can do. I mean, yes there ARE a lot of them, but it may just be a coincedence that someone's seen it somewhere else. =/ Referencing poses isn't illegal or an offense, but tracing would be plagarising, and is illegal and should be stopped.

The thing that ticks me off is that people go "OMIGOSH LYK THAT'S SOO GOOD YUR SUCH A GOOD ARTIST!11" when it's just copied and no real work went into it, making us people who WORK on our pictures look like bad artists.
