And yes I played that game too :D It's one of my favorites! It's Trace Memory. They made a 2nd one for Wii but it was never released in the U.S. ):
after all this time, I FINALLY KNOW WHAT THE GAME IS. XD i just got the game as you know from commenting on my world. :3 i just really hate the TE's right now. knowing on how i react to this game, i'll never be able to play fatal frame by myself at all. lol. because from what i've seen, there's a whole lot more creepy crap that goes on in fatal frame. O.o
that reminds me, i remember when i had this game for the ds that you played as a girl with silver hair and there was a little ghost boy fallowing you around and you had to solve the mystery of his death. it took place on an island called Blood Edward Island or something. by solving the mystery to the ghost boys death you figure out how your mother died and what happend to your father. you also used a device that looked a whole lot like a ds in the game.
